Half the fun here is trying to find this place – not giving away the secrets here, take the little adventure for yourself. Once inside it’s like a time portal to the past. A handful of tables, free peanuts, popcorn, and hotdogs in a crockpot (get in early to get one!). A no frills bar with a classic friendly but no frills bartender pouring liquor into plastic cups or cracking you open a bottle of beer. Stopping in for the history lesson on the place alone is worth it, but might as well grab a drink and snack while you’re there.

As a big Jimmy Buffett fan this was a must. Once we found it….it did not disappoint!! What a crazy cool tiny bar. The surrounding resort must have been built around it. Enjoyed all the mementos on the walls and ceiling and of course the cold beers and dirty dogs!

Small place with a great vide. Jimmy’s first gig was allegedly here. We didn’t eat anything. Seems like that could be true. A little hard to find but just wind your way around the resort and you’ll stumble across it. It doesn’t open until the evening. A++ old school OG KW hangout.

This is a must stop of you are a Jimmy Buffett fan! Very small place and seating is very limited. They offer free popcorn, peanuts and hot dogs for food. Great drinks and domestic beers with at least one craft choice on bottles.
The place is a shrine to the characters of old Key West and of course where Jimmy got his start in 1971. Talk to the bartenders and they’ll tell you great stories of the old days.

Total dive bar with upscale resort prices. Absolutely shameful. Wanted a nice cocktail so we went there to have an Old Fashioned. As the bartender was making it I noticed him hit the soda gun on it so I questioned it- he said it was water! WATER!!!!! Water in a $19 Basil Hayden Old Fashioned! It was the absolute worst Old Fashioned I’d ever sipped! I should’ve not drank it and walked out when he put water in it but I didn’t want to be rude so I stupidly accepted his very unskilled take on a very classic cocktail.

Fun place. Hole in wal with lots of history including Jimmy’s first gig. Small. Small beer tap list and it’s $9 for a domestic. Looks like the resort took it over and jacked the prices. Stay away.

Legendary bar where the King of Key West played his first concert. Free hotdogs, peanuts, and popcorn.
Cool bartenders and great atmosphere. Hard to find but worth it.

This is a great small dive bar, hidden away and has so much character! A historic fave of Jimmy Buffet, Shel Silverstein, Mel Fisher, and Hunter S Thompson (allegedly). 20 seats at most, so I mean small.

I’m a Huge Jimmy Buffett fan so I was looking forward to stopping by the Chart room. Must tell you it was disappointing to say the least. Certainly a hole in the wall inside a hotel – hard to find. I’m sure when Buffett was hanging out here it was different. If you want to check it off your list of things to do Feel free to stop by, but don’t expect a friendly bartender to greet you when you walk in. Drink selections are limited to the
Basics – more or less a tourist trap
