Located on board a converted barge on Red Brook Harbor in Cataumet, MA, inside the Kingman Yacht Center, the Chart Room has long become a summer tradition for many. Some come for the breathtaking sunsets, freshly prepared entrees, and live, nightly entertainment at the piano bar. Others come to enjoy a beverage with friends on the lawn while savoring the friendly, casual atmosphere.
Lively seafood spot for lobster salad & other New England classics, plus harbor view from the porch.

We held my husband’s memorial luncheon at The Chart Room here on Saturday, and it far exceeded our expectations! The Chart Room was my husband’s favorite place to eat in the summer. He had been going there since the 80’s – long before we were married.
The owner, David Jarvis, met with my daughters and I, and graciously offered the room behind the piano for our event. He also created a custom menu that was within my budget and printed copies for each place setting. He also allowed my daughters and I to come early before the service and bring flowers for each table and set up the dessert table.
The servers were friendly and gracious. They took the drink orders and kept the alcohol separate from my meal tab. The food for the luncheon was exceptional! Our guests were impressed with the waterfront location, the cozy room, and not only the many entree choices, but the side choices as well.
I will be forever grateful to David Jarvis, Todd for letting the girls and I in early to set up, and the wonderful servers (I’m sorry I didn’t hear the names) who took care of our guests on the day we honored my husband.
The Chart Room will forever be our beloved place for commemorating an event. Thank you for everything!

had mixed feelings after visiting Chart Room. The food was absolutely delicious — generous portions, flavorful mussels and shrimp gumbo, and the ravioli was simply outstanding. The location is also beautiful and worth visiting.
However, the service did not live up to the quality of the place. Our server, Molly, came to us about 10 minutes after we were seated to take our drink order. She then took our food order, brought it to the table, and never returned to check if everything was okay or if we were enjoying the meal.
Later, around 9:30 PM, we ordered coffee and dessert. We received only the dessert and were told that the coffee machine had already been cleaned, so coffee wouldn’t be available — no one warned us in advance, we were just informed after the fact.
Overall, great food and location, but the service experience, unfortunately, left a lot to be desired.

I’ve been hearing great things about this place…The Chart Room! Tonight I experienced this restaurant to see if it’s great in all! The Architecture in this building is phenomenal. Their Sirloin Steak is the best in the area, and their desserts…Are delicious. Definitely check this place out

Had a very disappointing lunch. Steamed mussels were flavourless (no garlic or white wine despite it being described as such on the menu). Burgers were very average and instead of fries they came with crisps. We wanted to provide feedback to the host but they were not interested in talking to us and just said “that’s how it comes.” Even the waitress was embarrassed.

Yet, another restraunt I enjoy the Lobster roll. Just look at the size. It’s expensive (50) but we split it without telling the wait staff so not to be charged the fee. We are so bad.

Great location on Buzzards Bay located next to a marina. Very large outdoor space to have a Mudslide while waiting for a table. I had the sea scallops and they were very good. Sometimes there is a piano player which is very entertaining. On this day he was playing mostly show tunes. My friend got the Swordfish with Anchovy butter and it was his favorite.

Went for a couple beverages with a group of friends. Our server, Brooke was wonderful. We do have a couple difficult people in our group and she was so accommodating, friendly and patient. Views were outstanding and espresso martini delish

Where can you get this much lobster? You won’t be able to finish it and have to take it home, so bring a cooler if you live far! Best lobster ever…I enjoy it in a giant tomato, but the Portuguese bread is also so delicious . Go with the potato salad as the side. You have to have a famous mud slide while your there, but more reasonably priced are the cocktails and beers. You’ll find no TVs here ..and end up talking to the people next to you and making friends. Awesome sunsets and beautiful views…one of the nicest spots around.

The outside seating is lovely, where you get to watch the sunset. Considering how crowded it was, the service was really excellent. The food was good, tasty, and well prepared, but I was disappointed with the menu selection. It was a bit pedestrian, very “average”, and I expected more creativity in the menu. It was classic New England seafood… Scallops drowned in butter with breadcrumbs, stuffed shrimp, assorted fish that was baked or broiled, crab cakes, lobster. Nothing you couldn’t get anywhere else… Except for the gorgeous sunset, of course 🙂

Great outside seating. Showed up at about 1pm on a nice day. Parking lot was just about full and a 20min wait for a table. Got seated after about 10min wait. Bloody Mary was strong/good. Noshed on apps. Perfect afternoon destination. Wait staff was great.
