We were lucky enough to be placed at what many consider the prime spot in the restaurant, right beside an engraved display of the Declaration of Independence. It immediately set a memorable tone for the evening. Since reservations were filling up fast and we didn’t want to miss our chance to dine there, we booked on the spot without even taking the time to review the full menu. It felt like a bit of a spontaneous decision, but the setting alone made it worth it. The historical touch added a unique charm to the experience, making the night feel special before the food even arrived.

This place is in what appears to be a restored old building right on the water. The atmosphere was very nice, chandeliers hung from high ceilings, stained wood everywhere, it was very cozy. The service was great, first some of the best bread we ever had was brought out, it was just the tiniest but set, with warm butter, that was a highlight! Then we got a dozen oysters, they were nice and briny without being fishy at all. Squeeze a little lemon on there and top with a bit of horseradish for the perfect way to start the meal. My wife got the prime rib and medium rare, it was just a bit rarer than she normally likes but she ended up loving it! got a filet. It was one of the most tender I’ve ever gotten, and the crust was impeccable. It was on the rarer side as well, halfway between rare and medium rare, exactly how like it! We each got a side of mashed potatoes, which were great, nice and buttery with some garlic mixed in perfectly. Finished it off with creamed spinach, which had some breadcrumbs that didn’t like but my wife found integral and quite enjoyed. We also got very dirty martinis that were fantastic. Definitely coming back here!

This restaurant is located very close to the Aquarium, which made it super convenient since we had an event nearby. We made a reservation just to be safe. Once we walked in, we were served fresh bread – really good, soft, and warm. I wasn’t a fan of the crackers, but that’s just because I generally don’t like toasted sesame seeds.
For drinks, I got a mocktail with cucumber and honey, which was refreshing and light. My partner ordered a bourbon with chocolate, and it was amazing – the garnish was a big chocolate sphere with a cherry on top.
For food, I ordered a medium-rare tuna steak that came with orzo, and my partner got the mahi bake. Both dishes were good (solid 4/5, but I wouldn’t put it as 5/5 simply because I’ve had these dishes better elsewhere). We skipped dessert since we were pretty full by then.
Overall, it was a good experience and surprisingly affordable (around $100 for two drinks and two entrées).

Amazing food and the wait staff really do care about going above and beyond to make the experience all the more enjoyable for you and your entire party. We came this past weekend and sat at a great round table upstairs and worked with Christine as our waitress! We all love our dirty martinis with BLUE CHEESE STUFFED OLIVES and although the restaurant was out of stock (stuffed fresh on site) at the time, Christine went above and beyond to stuff at least 20-25 of them throughout the night for my group! (Yes they were too short lived on the table to take a photo of them specifically) She was fantastic and deserves all the praise and I hope management at Boston Chart House recognized this review and gives her a huge shout out! We will be back!!

Thought this place was great. Very large bar area and dining space. The mussels were great, tasted very fresh. I thought the prime rib was excellent as well. Service was friendly and professional.

We truly enjoyed dinner in the cozy, festively decorated lounge on Tuesday night. From the extensive specialty cocktail menu to the incredible food and amazing service, everything was exceptional. The kimchee calamari was a standout, the lobster and shrimp carbonara was rich and perfectly prepared, and lava cake dessert was the perfect finishing touch! Nothing was left to be desired. An outstanding dining experience from start to finish, we will definitely be back!!

My family and I had just an okay time here. We loved the calamari to start, but were a bit disappointed in the more lackluster entrees. The risotto (in the sea bass + lobster risotto) was really good, but the fish was chewy and the flavors were boring and uninspired. Similarly, the chef’s choice of the crab stuffed sole felt heavy with muddled flavors. Lava cake dessert was good, but our server said the creme brûlée was warm when it was actually cold, so the communication could have been better there (he meant that the top should’ve been warm, which it still wasn’t, but he didn’t specify that when we asked him originally)

Boston’s Chart House provides the ideal fusion of breathtaking views of the harbor, a cozy atmosphere, and superb seafood. The service was polite and attentive, and the prime rib and lobster were prepared to perfection. Unquestionably one of Boston’s best waterfront dining experiences, it’s perfect for special events or romantic nights. Strongly suggested!

Had a lovely meal at the bar.
It was quite busy when I arrived at 7:30pm on a Sunday night.
Thr bartender was very busy, but she was attentive to each guest.
I started the meal clam chowder.
The lamb chops were cooked perfectly medium rare and the parsnip puree and pistachios paired well with it.
Finished the meal with a mini lava cake.
The location was great – right on the harbour!

Really great experience. Ate there twice in 3 days because it was so good. Great service, friendly staff. Food is fantastic. The Miso glazed Black Cod was our favorite of the dishes. We walked in around 7-8 pm on a weekday for 2 people, no reservation. You need to wait 10-20 min for food. Extensive menu with many options. Primarily seafood with some steak options. Highly recommend
