The food here is always delicious, if like authentic Loas food or want to try it definitely give this place a try! My wife and I have been coming here for years, highly recommend dinning in, the restaurant is very nicely put together inside.

Highly recommend getting the papaya salad. Everything is good and we get something different every time but we always get some of the salad.

I had never had Laotian food before trying Charming Elephant, and eating here made me regret waiting so long to try it! We loved the distinct design of the interior and the menu options, we ended up getting the fried tofu appetizer which was a must try, I’ve never had anything like it but already started making plans to take friends/family here to try them. For entrees we had the drunken noodles and the banh mi, both of which were excellent and affordable, and I also really recommend the Lao Taro smoothie, which has real taro imported from Laos in it.

One word of warning for summer travelers – there’s no AC in the building! They have plenty of fans but it did get pretty hot when we were there, even though it was the evening. Still, overall definitely very glad I stopped by and I will be back!

Wonderful Lao restaurant with a diversified menu and plenty of possibilities. The staff and the owners are friendly and the service is definately excellent.

A few Thai specialties are added to the menu for more exposure. The food is tasty and authentic. The location is quite close from the waterfront, with easy access. Definately a wonderful Lao experience!

Super cute inside! It was a rather quiet Saturday evening. We stopped by for the first time to try this place with our 2 year old son, and it did not disappoint. There was a busy full table when we arrived, but they were finishing up and left 10 minutes after we got seated, so we enjoyed the whole dining area to ourselves our whole meal. They have a lovely setup, and the waitress was absolutely sweet. I wish I got her name, but she was super helpful and kind. We ordered a lot of food to try and everything turned out super yummy and even reminded me of home food my mother makes. We loved the Lao food. We ordered chicken box which came with sticky rice and papaya salad. Lao sausage, jeow, fried pork belly, pork laab, and their garden rolls with a side of fries for my son to eat with chicken. We also got the strawberry smoothie and a few sodas. Everything was great, and we had so much leftover to bring home.

We came here for a late lunch and had the calamari, drunken noodles with beef (mild) and Lao sausage. It was wonderful and great portions! Will definitely order all those again, and we are really interested to try other items.

Some friends and I went to this place this week. The restaurant is so cute and has some really cute back drop areas. The service was pretty good for the most part. Most of the food was super delicious. There were a few dishes that I did not care for, but maybe you would. The sausage was amazing and had so much flavor. The crackling and fried pork were also really good. I did not care for the jerky. The calamari and egg rolls were definitely a must try! The drinks here, alcoholic and non alcoholic are amazing!!! Great spot for a quick bite or a great outing with friends.

This restaurant was empty at prime dinner time when we showed up – usually a huge red flag warning you to go somewhere else. Alas, it was not my decision so our party of nine seated ourselves and waited over five minutes for a server to approach our table. Service was rather informal. For example, instead of giving each diner eating utensils, they were dumped on the table for self-service distribution. Things went downhill from here on with a delay of over 20 minutes before being served after ordering. There was only one waiter in the restaurant, and I believe he was also the chef since we rarely saw him except for quick order taking and food serving; a one-man operation? Over the space of 90 minutes, I noticed only three people come in to pick up a takeout order and two other customers who were seated for dinner.
The food was mediocre and some of it ill-prepared. The roasted pork belly was woefully overcooked making it so hard as to be inedible. The pad thai was also overcooked and the cookies given to us at the end of our meal were rock hard tooth crackers. For some reason, the server chose to wear a giant ambiance killing black mask even though his contact with us was very limited and at some distance.
Despite its name, this place was not at all charming and with a wealth of restaurants to choose from in the Baltimore area, I would definitely avoid this place.

We ordered the soft shell crab pad thai and could not believe it was 45 dollars! When we received it we were very disappointed. It was not worth this price. We’ve tried other soft shell pad thai that are much better and worth the price. Cant believe we wasted $45 on thid

This place was ok. The menu is extensive which is intriguing, but the food was a bit underwhelming, as was the service. We came in for lunch and it was empty, but still did not have the most attentive server. We ordered soup – the lunch special. You can choose various broths. The tom Kai broth was just ok, and the noodles were very mushy. The Kapoon was good. I would maybe try this place again and get something other than soup. The crab wontons were not good, however, the Thai iced tea was. I did like that they had a vast vegetarian / vegan menu.
