Charlotte’s Speakeasy is truly one of the most unique engagement session locations on Long Island. I recently photographed an engagement session there, and the experience exceeded expectations. We had the space to ourselves, which allowed for a relaxed, uninterrupted atmosphere that made a huge difference for my couple.

From the hidden entrance behind the bookshelf to the exposed brick, warm lighting, and vintage details throughout, the space feels intimate and thoughtfully designed. Every corner offers texture and character, creating a cinematic backdrop without feeling overdone. The ambiance naturally encourages couples to slow down, connect, and be present.

While it is an excellent option for a rainy day, it deserves to be considered far beyond that. Charlotte’s Speakeasy stands on its own as a distinctive, stylish setting for engagement photos, date nights, and private events. It offers something different from traditional locations and brings a refined, moody energy that photographs beautifully.

Definitely check this place out! Nick and John, the owners, and the staff were so attentive and accommodating from the start. Truly historic place. This speakeasy was restored with so much passion and attebtion to detail. We loved hearing the the story of how it came to be and named after their mother. . We really felt like we were transported back in time during prohibition. The band was awesome and even surprised me with a serenade for my Birthday. Absolutely incredible. Thank you for a memorable night!!! This place is worth traveling far for an experience.

Terrific and authentic speakeasy, which it was. Small, underground and only open two days a week. Live Music both days. Go to their website for the password to enter through a bookcase. Not much of a beer menu but more geared for cocktails from the wonderful staff. Great night out!!

Wow, what a unique and fun place to spend an evening. Unlike a lot of other speakeasy bars, this one really leans into the atmosphere of the time period. Live music was great, staff were super friendly, and the crowd was warm and welcoming. Check the website for the password.

Went to Charlotte’s Speakeasy for the start of my bday celebration last night!! The Harmonica Bill and Marked Deck band was outrageously ridiculously so so so good! They played authentic lowdown Chicago Blues and tore the place APART! Every member of the band was super talented. The venue was amazing. The owner took us on a tour and clearly cares about this historic actual 1920-33 Speakeasy. He has revived the Speakeasy with a secret password required and fake bookcase door entry and all! They had old movie clips of famous old time dancers and big band numbers soundlessly playing in the background which added to the unique luxe nightclub vibe. Shout out to the super accommodating servers and food, food selection and drinks which were all top notch. To say we couldn’t have had a better time would be an understatement. Thank you!! -Lisa

Wow! This place was fantastic! Plan a date night here! You walk through a yogurt shop. You make your way to the back where an unassuming person is hanging. You start a conversation and you acknowledge that you are there for the speakeasy by providing the password. After speaking the password you are directed to the secret entrance. It’s an underground world you just entered! Live music is playing. Lots of people are just hanging and enjoying the environment. Drinks are delicious! I didn’t order food. I will go again! It’s located in a village so parking can take a minute. You gotta go check it out !

This was definitely fun! We went for the experience of going to a speakeasy. This did not disappoint. The food, the service, and the drinks were great. The Willie Steel Band was amazing. I would love to see them again. Back to Charlotte’s… loved the cocktail “Charlotte’s Secret,” very refreshing. We tried the Burratta salad and the pizza. Will definitely come back. Note that if you want a table, I suggest you call Thursday at 9:00 am on the dot, they get reserved quickly. I did not post all the pictures, so you can experience it for yourself. Oh, and btw you can go out the ice cream shop and enjoy a cone on your way out, lol. We did! 🙂

My husband and I used to come here all the time. We left NY and talk about how this was the best speakeasy we’ve ever been to. The owner is truly the sweetest person and we appreciated the excitement that radiated off of him with every customer he interacted with. We unfortunately won’t be able to visit when we go down to NY since we’re coming down on a weekday, but I always wish this place the best. Hoping we can go back soon!

What a fun concept! This was so a fun and unique experience! Had to solve a riddle to get into the secret entrance inside of an ice cream shop! The drinks and staff were fabulous. We were able to hear live music in this cozy basement speakeasy! True history as well!
