I’ve rated the atmosphere 3 stars only because the children’s playground lacks shade cover, which made it a bit difficult for them to play comfortably in the heat. However, it was a nice touch that they had the sprayer misters running to help keep everyone cool while it was 30 degrees out.
Overall, a lovely spot for a family meal, just hoping for some shade over the play area in the future!
The area does not always have full service, as all ordering is done via table-based QR code.
The playground is very decent, and my kids loved it.
One bit of feedback is that I wish the entry gate was kept closed to avoid kids wondering into the car park.
Our food included steak, beef schnitzel, bangers and mash, chicken burgers, spaghetti bolognese, nuggets, buffalo wings, and beef burgers. All portions were generous and delicious, with the schnitzel warranting a special commendation.
The venue is accessible for both wheelchairs and prams. Guests can be seated in proximity to the playground, allowing for continuous supervision.
Televisions displaying cricket were a welcome feature, particularly for my sons.
⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐
The highlight of the evening was the exceptional service provided by our server, Emily. Her engaging demeanor and evident enjoyment of her work were truly refreshing.
Emily, your service was outstanding, and you are performing a stellar job.
I’ve always liked this place for its kid-friendly vibe, but the food has been disappointing lately. I ordered a medium steak, and it came out well done with average quality overall. It’s still a great spot for drinks, but I’d recommend looking elsewhere if you’re after a good meal.
Would visit again. Thanks CY’s .
Food- Quite pricey, but very generous sizes. Avoid the kids nuggets, as these were of terrible quality, no genuine chicken breast in sight, which is far from the standard and quality of everything else (You get better at McDonald’s). Two meals did not reflect what is written on the menu and/or shown on the menu. The beef snitzel advertised (written and image) fried potatoes- the potatoes served were baked. The dish was also coated in large amounts of bacon, which really overpowered the dish… bacon was not even mentioned on the menu- this is a major concern as it could be an issue for cultural reasons. The pulled beef sandwich says served with siracha mayo and a slaw. The siracha mayo is built into the slaw rather than it being seperate. Therefore when I removed siracha mayo the slaw arrived without any form of mayo, so it was lacking moisture. Originally they brought the sandwich out with siracha mayo in it, so I burnt my mouth on the heat. I sent it back and they quickly rectified by giving me slaw without any form of mayo.
Atmosphere: quite good. The playground is a highlight and well situated. The calf area is dismal, it’s just a sandpit really. The main thing lacking with the atmosphere was the location of their water dispensers. These were located next to the till, but are at toddler height. Therefore kids were going up and filing sandpit buckets, cups and glasses in the dispenser, to take back to the sand. Staff turned a blind eye to this and some parents either ignored it or were unaware. The taps were covered in sand. This is a big safety and hygiene concern.
Service: very good. Staff were receptive to the feedback I provided above. Quick turn around between ordering and meals arriving. But could do better by monitoring the water and speaking to children and families accordingly.
I couldn’t edit the meal I chose, I went and asked the girl, and she told me I had to pay for my edits there and then.
I asked if we could just put it on the table account and her reaction of “how did you start an account” your not aloud one.
Unfortunately the experience was not pleasant at Charlie’s paddock. Couldn’t order what we wanted and then got stuffed around waiting for food to come out.
It is basically same menu as CYO Pub just with different vibe, more geared towards family with kids as the tables are scattered around with playground as the centre main attraction in the middle.
Welcoming was a bit disappointing. They didn’t offer us menu on arrival. Didn’t even know there is a printed menu at the till. But apart from that they did help us with the rest.
Foods were good. I always liked the Chicken Char Siu Salad. The rest were pretty good too. The kids set was good value. For $15 you get a meal, drinks and an ice cream.
I thought the kids friendly hangout idea was great. Will definitely return.
