I’ve been going to Charlie’s Barbecue since I was a kid, back when my great-uncle Larry used to take me there, and it’s one of those places that never changes in the best way. The barbecue is hands-down some of the best you’ll find anywhere, cooked right and full of flavor every single time.
What really makes this place special though is the atmosphere. It feels like family the moment you walk in, and the aviation-themed photos all over the walls give it a unique character you don’t see many places anymore. It’s the kind of spot where memories are made, not just meals.
The owners are true stand-up men who care about their customers and their community, and that shows in everything they do. Charlie’s isn’t just a barbecue restaurant, it’s a tradition. Highly recommend to anyone who appreciates great food and an even better atmosphere

Great old school bbq joint. Prices are extremely reasonable. Food was delicious and serving sizes were very generous.

Decent spot for pulled pork and chopped chicken breast. No other BBQ meats there. They do have burgers. Fast friendly service. Clean. Fair price. 2 choices for BBQ sauce: mild and hot. The hot isn’t spicy at all, and is good. Sides include beans, macaroni, slaw, fries. The beans taste like canned.

First time here and glad I stopped. Beans and coleslaw made fresh everyday. Friendly folks and great BBQ. Prices are best I’ve seen for BBQ anywhere in the upstate. Added bonus is great sweet tea. Give them a chance. They are awesome.

The BBQ and baked beans were very good. The BBQ has a nice mild smoky flavor and tastes great with their hot or mild sauce. The cole slaw was okay. The seating area was open and very clean. The staff was friendly and had food ready very quickly. This is a great place to stop in for a quick lunch.
One final note: the bathrooms are very clean and well kept.

Frequently passed without thought. While not exactly a competitor to sbh or lewis, it was excellent in it’s own way. Prices were amazing, kids enjoyed the beans and Mac thoroughly. Give it a shot.

I had the chopped pork BBQ plate for a late lunch. The meat had little to no smoke and was a bit dry with no flavor. The hot BBQ sauce was sweet and watery with no heat or spice. For sides I had the fries and mac and cheese. The fries on the plate were the star of the show. The mac and cheese was very much like Kraft mac and cheese from the box. The folks working there were nice but they were not working with a good product/products and for that I do feel for them. The highlight of the meal was the water and the fries. A lot of folks enjoy the food but I would suggest finding a different BBQ restaurant.
