The brand new Charlie’s Backyard BBQ! Amazing BBQ but the catfish is some of the best in town! Don’t leave without some banana pudding! Awesome people too! Charlie is such a happy and kind guy. The decor is great, gives a real indoor backyard feel.

As a military veteran I have traveled to various countries, and all over the country. Without a doubt I can say, that this place has the best BBQ I’ve ever had in my life.
I ordered the 2 meat combo plate.
Spicy sausage, it was supple, juicy, and the perfect hint of spice, and the portion was perfect!
Brisket was the most juicy and soft I ever had but held a perfect texture at the same time, try it!
The fries were a perfect temperature, crunch, and flavor.
Beans had a hint of spice but were well balanced.
This is now my favorite spot, and I’m going to recommend it to everyone I know!
Lastly the staff and owner were amazing! This place deserves only 5 stars!

This is the best bbq brisket sandwich I have ever eaten! So tender and juicy! It didn’t need the side of sauce that was included but I used some anyway. The sauce was also delicious. Even the bun was something special. Definitely some kind of enriched bun was used. The potato salad was also very good. The potatoes were cooked perfectly. My husband said the catfish is amazing but it takes a little longer because it’s cooked fresh not just reheated. The prices are very reasonable and even more reasonable during the lunch time special. I gobbled down half my sandwich before remembering to take a picture. Super nice folks run this place. Local not a chain!!

We decided to try this place and it was very good. We tried the brisket, pulled pork, and chicken and all of them were cooked perfectly. I couldn’t decide which sauce I liked better, the house sauce or the citrus ginger. They were both delicious. I had slaw and beans as sides and thought they were good too. We also got the banana pudding and chocolate cake for dessert, and I enjoyed them both as well. I’ve had BBQ from numerous places, including Alabama, North Carolina, and Texas, and this place can hang with the best of them. If you like good BBQ then you will like Charlie’s Backyard BBQ as well.

I ordered the Jr Rib lunch special that totaled $14. 3 ribs, cup of greens and corn bread muffin w/ a cup of sauce.
Reading over the excellent reviews posted, I must’ve showed up on the wrong day or time. Got there a little after opening on a Thursday and had a chance to look around while waiting to be noticed. The place has nice table and chairs, 2 TVs and the floor seemed to be cleaned. The owner noticed me standing there and greeted me with a kind “welcome to our backyard…”. I appreciate his smile and kind greeting. The food looked good in parking lot and I was so looking forward to some good food.
So, that’s about all I’m gonna add to this review.
I do wish Charlie and his Backyard BBQ the best.

So glad I decided to try this place! Ribs fell off the bone and not dry! Brisket was cooked to perfection and the pulled pork was great! Owners made you feel like you were lifelong friends (1st time meeting them)! Will definitely be back!

This place was amazing. My sis and I were in Arizona dropping my nephew off for. College and we wanted son BBQ. Found this place on google and decided to try it. Walked in and the vibe was just amazing. Rachel had the best customer service ever. Even if the food wasn’t on point we would go back to be because of her. Food was delicious and portions were good. When we are back in Arizona you know we will be back. The owner came out to make sure everything was good. I haven’t had such good customer service is so long. Rachel please do a customer service call and reach people how to treat people. See you in October

I’ve eaten BBQ all over the country. This was the best brisket I’ve ever tasted. The ribs fell off of the bone. The tips were terrific. Topped off by a great host who cares about the quality of his food. Can’t say enough good about this place. Well worth the stop if you’re in the Phoenix area

Got the 2 meat combo with brisket and hot links. The brisket was amazing, so juicy. The hot links were really good too, though not a spicy as I thought they would be. Must get the chocolate cake. It was so moist and fresh. Definitely homemade. Haven’t tasted a chocolate cake this good in a while. The guy at the front was very nice and helpful.

Very delicious dinner! Got the chicken plate with two sides. Chicken was moist and the mac and cheese and beans were delicious. My only critique? They need a neon Open sign! At night you can’t really tell they are open.
