My Husband took me for the first time to his childhood hot spot. He grew up in Cuba and his childhood friends parents owned Charlie’s. He has fond memories and thought he would share them with me. We’ve recently moved to the area. My husband ordered the double Cuba burger with fries. I ordered fried chicken thighs 3 piece, coleslaw slaw ,mashed potatoes and gravy. As we waited for our order we enjoyed sitting there watching traffic and reminiscing and just hanging out. Unfortunately, we also realized how run down and shabby the place was. Seats were broken and old, bottles on the table were sticky. The girl that took our order was sweet to talk to but definitely didn’t have any desire to do any more work than she had to as the tables all had crumbs on them and needed wiped down, floors needed sweeping and all the glass was needing a good washing too. She mostly stood around not doing much at all. Our food finally arrived. She brought it out on a tray. Presentation was appealing and portions were pretty big. Unfortunately, the tray that she brought it on was very sticky like it hadn’t been washed in a while…gross! I was tempted to refuse it but I didn’t. My Husband loved his burger! The fry portion was huge. My chicken order of 3 actually had 4 pieces which made me happy to think that I would have leftovers. The coleslaw and mashed potatoes and gravy were delicious and the portions were large. Unfortunately, the chicken was disappointing. It must have been cooked in the fish fryer because it tasted like fish…instant turn off. I did bring it home but, I ended up throwing it away. My husband threw out his leftover fries aswell. Maybe the fries oils need changed because both my husband and myself had intestinal issues afterwards. Im sorry for the negative review but I really felt that I needed to say something. Maybe the owners will step up their game and spruce this place up. We’d like to try the pizza but we’re hesitant. Good luck!

We ordered pizza for pickup here recently and it was great! It’s not easy to find places that offer sheet pizza in this area, it seems. But this was great pizza at a great price – one thing I will say it was very very greasy. Not enough to stop us from chowing it down. Not sure if it was a one time thing or if it will be the next time we order too, but we’ll find out. The crust was different somehow but I liked it. Good sauce and lots of cheese!

I have yet to have a bad meal here. And if you are someone that loves toppings on your pizza, do yourself a favor and get The Works. You won’t be disappointed! Also the Cuba Steak & Cheese sub is a good choice also.

This is a fun place with tasty food! The funnel cake fries were delicious and really all the fried food was great. The ice cream was super creamy and the portions are huge, great value for money. If you’re looking for a better than average fast food option (where you can also get subs, pizzas, and more!) this is a hidden gem.

Get the party platter, it’s not going to be the best pizza you’ve ever had but it will feed you for days. It’s just good economics. Splurge for a topping or two, you’re going to be eating this pizza for a while… it’s like the size of a grill cover. See the photo and imagine a lot more pizza (I ate the rest of it).
