We used to go to Higland Park location of Charlie Browns till they close that location. We hope they retain this restaurant as they cook one of the best grilled steak in New Jersey. Still loving them!

I order their French dip sandwich for lunch a lot. Very good. Also they make a very nice burger. The salad bar is very fresh with good choices, you don’t see many salad bars in restaurants these days so this is a nice feature. The steaks are always delicious for this level of steak restaurants and their featured special menus usually are pretty interesting. The one thing however is sometimes the service can be slow or underwhelming especially. I notice this more in the bar seating area. I at times have to actually get up and walk over to a server to ask for things like the check or steak sauce because follow up is inconsistent there. I think if they really focused on more training and customer service they would get my 5 Stars. I’ll still go back though and keep trying.

Server was friendly and courteous. Checked on us regularly. We had Queen Cut prime rib dinners with salad bar. Everything came out correctly. Salad bar was cleaned and stocked. Beautiful salad bar. Bathrooms were well attended and clean. Cant wait to go again.

The food was really good. I recommend the coconut shrimp. Our waitress was great. However, another waiter brought customers into our reserved space about 20 minutes prior to the end of our reservation. Not awful, but momentarily disrupted our baby shower. They eventually relocated those customers .

Nice looking dining and bar area. Great salad bar, especially at lunch. More expensive meat and fish offerings are ok, but not outstanding. Price leaders are a disappointment. The value for the money needs a review. Wait staff is good. Join their handshake club if you want extra value. Big senior/early bird seating. They need to improve the menu! Better food and value needed!

This was my second visit to Charlie Brown’s in the last 5 months. I have not been disappointed yet. I had the meatloaf with mashed potatoes and crispy onions. It was absolutely delicious. Their drinks are strong enough for the price and they are a decent size as well. They will definitely see me again!

Nice and fresh salad bar. The service was okay..compared to other places.. they were taking time, when there not many customers. We personally didn’t like the chicken and steak. The salmon was nice.

We sat at the bar for lunch. There weren’t many people there. There was a bartender and a trainee present. We were greeted and then told they’d bring us menus, we had to wait while they remembered that they were going to bring us the menus. We weren’t asked if we wanted to order anything past the appetizers, and weren’t asked at any point how are drinks were or if we wanted another round. We had to get their attention for that. Not interested in coming back. The service sucks.

ROACHES in the Dining Room?!!?!! Seriously?!?! I couldn’t believe it! But it’s true!! I went to this location for lunch a couple days ago and my Mom and I both saw what appeared to be some kind of bugs like ROACHES coming out from the space in between the booths and the wall where we were sitting in the Dining Room!!! GROSS!! If there are roaches (or some kind of bugs) living in the Dining Room, then it makes me concerned that there could be the same problem in the kitchen and coming in contact with the food! What is going on with this restaurant? It used to be good, but it seems like the quality of this place is going down hill FAST! I reported seeing the bugs immediately to our waiter and to the manager. Our waiter acted like he didn’t even care (like it was a NORMAL thing!) and the manager acted like he didn’t see them crawling all over the booth and the wall! These bugs were obvious and in plain sight! You would have to be totally BLIND to not see them! I even killed one and took a picture of it! (So look for the picture I recently uploaded!) And as soon as I got home, I immediately called the local Health Department and the Charlie Brown’s Corporate Office to report this! Something is seriously wrong with this location! The slogan of Charlie Brown’s is “Fresh Grill”, NOT looking forward to experiencing “Fresh ROACHES” or bugs with my meal! I will NOT be returning to eat here again anytime soon! At least not until they thoroughly clean up the restaurant and clean up their act! It’s NOT worth potentially getting sick from eating here!
