Great customer service from all the staff! I will still be going here even after the event I was a witness to. I was witness to a previous review posted about accusing your friend of shoplifting. I watched your friend put a drink in his pocket. I myself thought that your friend was trying to steal a drink. The short blonde woman at the check out counter politely asked your friend to please take the drink out of his pocket. Your friend asked “why, you want me to leave the store?” The short blonde lady responded “why would I want you to do that?” The lady was polite, stayed respectful and explained why. At no time was the lady yelling or throwing up her arms in the air. The lady at the counter then took your friend’s ticket back to the kitchen so they could prepare his food. You’re friend wanted to start going off thinking that the lady wasn’t allowing him to pay for his items. If I thought your friend was possibly stealing because he put the drink in his pocket, I could imagine what the short blonde woman was thinking as well. I understand people have bad days but the rude part was you’re friends reaction to being asked politely to remove a drink from his pocket. Then you’re friends aggressive and rude reaction to the blonde lady taking you’re friends food ticket to the kitchen was uncalled for. Then you decide to leave your items behind and walk out with your friend. I don’t understand why you are writing this review for you’re friend. You’re friend got upset, was being rude and aggressive when he was asked nicely to please take the drink out of is pocket. Me personally I would not put items in my pocket at any store. Most store’s have baskets which I see Charlie Bob’s has one.

I visited today for the first time. I assume this is a “Champ’s Chicken” franchise location inside a local gas station, given the name Charlie Bob’s not being on the packaging for the food or any of the products… As such, this should be the same quality of food you’d expect at any of the Champ’s Chicken locations. I’ve never had it before, so this was an adventure for me…
The fuel cost at the location was high for the area. When I visited, it was $3.19, while a station just down the road was $3.03.
The food I ordered from Champs Chicken was the 4 pc fried fish (catfish) special, for $15. For $15 I had expected it would come as a meal, but nope – it was 4 pieces of fish in a box. The fish tasted alright, but was extremely salty, which is a shock to me because I am one of those family members which everyone else knows for dumping salting on nearly everything, and is the first one to reach for the salt shaker when eating out anywhere… This fish had the traditional crispy crunchy breadcrumb batter, with a nice flaky hot interior. The food was pretty good, but probably not worth the $15 – Maybe $9.99-11.99, since it came with no drink and no sides. The food was ready pretty fast. The staff were friendly and polite.
Since this is essentially a franchise restaurant inside another location, what they have you do is this: They write down your order, they give you the ticket, you walk over to the gas station clerk counter, you hand them the ticket, they ring you up and mark it paid, you take the ticket back over to the Champs counter and hand it back when you get your food. An interesting way to do it for sure, but I can see why they do it like that.

First off excellent service from the staff that works in the kitchen area. The short blond woman who works the check out counter is aggressive and rude . She first accused my friend of trying to shoplift as he was trying to pay, then she launched into a tirade and walked away while raising her voice the entire time. People some times have bad days but this sort of behavior is completely unacceptable. I will sadly not be stopping there again and let friends and family know to stay clear as long as Charlie Bob’s employs people like that.

I got the 2 piece chicken meal with an extra thigh and leg. My sides were hush puppy, spiced apple, and Mac and cheese. I went around 5pm and I was the only one ordering food. There were 2 other people that came in to buy drinks and stuff.
The chicken was okay at best. The meat was bland which makes me think the chicken wasn’t brined before frying. The batter was a bit salty with maybe some pepper, no idea I couldn’t taste the pepper. I don’t eat very salty so it’s pretty impressive that I could barely taste the salt. Its a 3 out of 5 tasting chicken.
The biscuit was hard, flavor was okay though. Nothing too impressive. Not sure if it was hard because it was sitting out for a while.
The hush puppies were dry with okay flavor. Nothing to write home about.
Spiced apples were pretty good, but it’s pretty hard to mess that up.
I don’t have anything to say about the Mac and cheese since they didn’t give it to me.
The entire meal was $17 and some change. Overall its edible, but there are better fried chicken places. This is my first time here so I don’t know if it was an off day or if I came at the wrong time, but it would not be a place I would actively recommend to others. Maybe one day I will go back and try their subs, but not anytime soon.

Absolutely amazing experience. One of a kind gas station experience. I honestly went in for gas but got so much for. The warm meals are amazing and at a great deal. The workers we’re incredibly friendly and made sure to make the process quick and easy. I highly recommend their egg and bacon breakfast sandwiches. It has a home feel and was delicious. They had a very large collection of snacks and drinks and I got to try some things I had not seen before.

First time going, I heard about the chicken ordered 2 breast and fries to go. I was very pleased and well worth the wait. I will let folks know, my wife is just read that you serve breakfast and was naming things that you have, two words: I’m eating. Keep doing what you do

Stoped today for a piece of pizza like I’ve done numerous times in the past. Ask for a slice of pizza, receive the pizza with a ticket and then pay the ticket on the way out. It shouldn’t be complicated.
Today, the lady in the food service area insisted I need to pay the slip first. When I asked why – she insinuated I may not pay for it.
That’s simply insulting. I tried talking to the lady who was cashiering but she was just rude.
Whatever, I’ll just start going to Y Not Stop across the street. Their prices are usually cheaper on things anyways.
