Charley’s Ocean Bar & Grill is a seaside restaurant & bar that offers quality meals, delicious cocktails and gorgeous views of the Atlantic Ocean. Our distinguished menu and atmosphere are inspired by a beach-life attitude, offering all patrons a local summer experience, all year round! Originally a speakeasy that dated to the 1930 pre-prohibition era, the spot is a part of Jersey Shore history and has always been the local gem of Long Branch’s beach scene. Situated past Pier Village and at the end of the Long Branch’s popular boardwalk, Charley’s stands right by Seven President’s Ocean Park beach. We offer free private parking for our patrons, along with beautiful views of the ocean.

Two Texans walk into a restaurant on a cold and blustery day looking for some classic fish and chips – order the chips, the lobster tacos and then some… because of great food and service! We enjoyed our visit which was completely by accident as we had a day to explore the coast and ended up starving in a town we did not know. Charley’s was comfortable, friendly and seriously delicious. Amy took great care of us- as for her, she was exceptional. Thanks Charley’s- we are in NJ each November it seems so we’ll be back!

The atmosphere and service were spectacular. Mario waited on our table and was very nice and helpful, but the food was not what we expected.
We ordered several dishes and it was low in salt. We ordered Mac and Cheese for our little girl and they didn’t taste the best (my daughter tried them and didn’t want to eat them).
The Broccoli and Cheese soup was my favorite. The Lava Cake dessert was spectacular! Super delicious!! And the drinks were great! The space feels very nice and you have a good time.

They seemed to have been short staffed or something because there was a wait and not every table was filled. Our guests arrived before us and put our names down and they were told they only had outdoor tables which we wanted anyways. They sat us down at an indoor table and we had to ask what happened to the outdoor only tables? She moved us and every table seemed to be filled with guests.
Our service was very slow as it took quite a while for even drinks to come out and we didn’t get a chance to order yet. As this is happening most of the tables outside are clearing up.
Appetizers came out and we were well past finished before our main courses came out and it seems to be getting emptier in the restaurant.
The drinks were good and the food fairly good as well. The sweet potato fries could’ve been cooked longer.
This is my third time here and every time has been quite pleasant. It was a holiday and quite busy all over the Jersey shore.

Food both looked nice and tasted good. Good portion sizes and the drinks were typical size. Soup came out very hot and meals were warm. Friendly staff and clean place. Had the froze, spicy Bermuda fish soup, and shrimp ravioli.
