The food came out fast, but I don’t think this is normal, The onion pieces were huge, and one of them even looked like onion skin… That kind of killed my appetite. Also, the place didn’t look very clean.

Having never eaten from a Charlie’s, I wasn’t sure what to expect when my wife chose it for dinner. I generally don’t pick cheesestakes, but after tonight I might start!
First off, the meat is sliced impossibly thin. While this might seem like a small detail, it creates an incredibly soft and chewy texture which invites you to take one bite after another. The layers of meat and toppings (in my case, cheese wiz and sautéed onions) pack so much flavor into the sandwich. I actually needed to consciously slow down to enjoy the sandwich before it was gone.
It was a bit easier to distract myself with the buffet of sides we ordered. The fries were fresh and crisp, delicious both ways we ordered (plain and ultimate—the latter being a delicious symphony of ranch, cheese and bacon). My wife also got some mozzarella sticks (a fun menu surprise!) which delivered on expectations and scratched that fried cheese itch. We even tried the boneless wings, which dramatically exceeded expectations (fried crisp on the outside, and the white meat chicken was soft and pillowy—no hint of sliminess that often accompanies boneless wings).
Beyond just the tasty meal, the staff was welcoming and friendly. One gentleman checked on us multiple times to make sure we had everything we needed. I’m not sure if all Charley’s are this good, but I’ll be back soon after eating at this one!
