I’d been wanting to try Charles & Reid Detroit Pizza forever, and it absolutely lived up to the hype! The pizza was incredible: perfectly crisp edges, amazing flavor, and super fresh ingredients. We loved every bite.

The service was excellent too. Our wait staff was friendly, knowledgeable, attentive, and quick, which made the whole experience even better.

If you’re craving Detroit-style pizza, this is the place to go. Already excited to come back!

Great spot for pizza. The staff were genuinely friendly and made the place feel welcoming right away. The atmosphere was relaxed and comfortable, easy to enjoy without trying too hard. And the pizza. Absolutely heavenly. The flavors were already spot on, but that final dollop of pesto took it to another level. Simple, well done, and worth coming back for.

Nice place, great people, really good pizza, pan style but not too heavy. You can do half and half on the pizza because they are all good and hard to choose. They had hot bread sticks(forgot name) you have to try! They are very mild but amazing. Sorry for the after photo, forgot to take fresh.

What a great find, tucked away downtown. Chicago was never my favorite pizza, but this pizza may have changed that! The cheesebread was also out 9f this world. The employees couldn’t have been nicer either. We will be back for that crispy then pillowy deliciousness.

Had real Detroit pizza here. I never knew that there was a Detroit pizza, but apparently there is and it was wonderful. It’s got a thick crust that is really crunchy and chewy. Toppings were similar to other pizzas, but the real star is the crust. The place is really really busy, obviously because they have unbelievable pizza. Very small place that seats probably 20, so get there early or plan to wait in line. The only concern I had about the whole experience was when we went to pay our bill, we had to wait in the line of people ordering pizza. The line stays pretty long. It would be nice if they would allow people just to pay their bill quickly to clear the table, so that other people could sit.

Great pizza! Clearly a popular place with lots of carry out orders. They have about 6 dine in tables. Great wait staff that let us know how long the wait would be for pizza (25 mins) and that bread sticks or other apps could be ready quicker (10mins). Once they got busy I did hear them tell a table next to me it would be 45 mins for a pizza. Two beers on tap and other drinks available. Would happily come back!

Tiny venue in alley behind Front Street…maybe 12 two tops that you can push together. Detroit pizza, 3 salads, few sandwiches and few appetizers. Real Detroit pizza with focaccia crust and Wisconsin brick cheese (also mozzarella) and the best tomato sauce I’ve ever had ladled on top, cooked in a square pan with cheese out to the edge. There’s a lot of good pizza in the TC area, but this is the best. A close rival would be Market 22 out on the Leelanau Peninsula. There’s Jet’s and Cottage Inn in TC but this is better, in fact I think this is better than, dare I say it, Buddy’s!
Update: 12/25 Have seen comments complaining it takes 30 minutes. That’s what good deep dish takes. Don’t want to wait…order ahead by phone. Only drawback to this is there may not be a table when you arrive. Depends on the time of day. We’ve been lucky with this technique multiple times.

I was honestly skeptical at first….being from Detroit, I grew up on Buddy’s. But wow, this pizza did not disappoint! Every bite was delicious, even the next day. (Pro tip: reheated in the air fryer made it taste fresh out of the oven!)
The staff were not only friendly but also genuinely helpful, which made the experience even better. This place has definitely earned a spot on my “must visit” list every time I’m in Traverse City. Highly recommend❣️

Had no idea where the place was located since we were out of towners. Luckily there was a big pizza flag out front! I really wanted an unusual gourmet pizza night and we got it! The Popper is really nice. Goat cheese on a pizza? We dont come across that often. Amazing! We also picked up the Summit and cheese bread. So good!!! The people working were awesome. Were they the owners? Unsure but great customer service. Thanks!
