Charlene’s Diner ! One of my moms favorite places for breakfast! I messaged them in advance as my mom knew tgat my sister and I were going to meet her for breakfast….but she didnt know that her grandkids and great-grandkids flew in from South Dakota and Idaho!! Yup! Mom was super suprised! And she cried! AND the place was packed that morning!! Everything was PERFECT! Great place! Thanks again for everything!!!

I have been here a few times and enjoy the food and atmosphere. I was going to finally write a nice review today after a few consistently good visits but today tanked. I took a few pictures of the diner but no pictures of my food because we didn’t get to eat. We got to wait a half an hour to be seated at the counter, another ten minutes for coffee, another ten minutes to order, and then another thirty minutes to watch people who came in after us eat their food. When we asked the waitress where our food was, she went in the back and then kept serving other tables. Today is our five year wedding anniversary. To be fair, it’s Veteran’s Day. It’s busy. It’s always busy. But it’s not worth over an hour wait every time we come here. We left a few bucks on the table and left or we would have missed our appointment.

Food is always consistent here, you get exactly what you order or what is on the menu. Service is extremely fast and reliable usually, and great place for larger groups of 5 or 6 with the booths. Food isn’t extremely special, but attention is paid to what you order and everything is made how you ask or to the scale of a mom and pop breakfast establishment. Definitely frequent the place myself. Awesome though that they have flavored creamer on demand for coffee lovers! That puts them above most places that only serve half and half.

Great diner! A local family camping next to us at Hopeville Pond recommended Carlene’s. I’m so glad they did. I ordered the Torpedo w/ Cheese and thoroughly enjoyed it! It was an omelette with what tasted like a scratch made sloppy joe mix inside. Coming from North and South Carolina, I’ve never had anything like it. Nice folks and great atmosphere. Absolutely loved it.

People rave about this place and I was excited to go for my first time. Went for breakfast. The best part of my breakfast was the toast. The OJ was good too. Over easy eggs, to me, doesn’t mean uncooked white of the eggs. I was happy to hear that there was a choice to have onions or not in the Home fries. I love onions. Clearly the onions are cooked on the side. That is ok but I didn’t like the large amount of butter/grease/fat that came with it. Good thing we weren’t in a hurry because it took an hour to get our food. We were hungry and watching the clock. Also had 2 children with us (Maybe some crayons to keep them busy?) We did have to wait a reasonably short time to get a table. When you have to wait, even a short time, you notice the people around you waiting also. We saw people that came in after us get their food before us. It was at least another 15 minutes before we got our food after that. The staff was friendly and kind. I won’t be someone who raves about this place.
