We did the three-course menu—smart, streamlined, and stacked with all the good stuff.
• Crab salad: fresh, delicately dressed, plated like a flower over baby cabbage. Every bite = full, sweet crab moment.
• French onion soup: deeply rich, layered, unapologetically indulgent.
• Steak frites: ordered medium-rare on the rare side—executed perfectly. The duck-fat fries? Bold, aromatic, and honestly better than truffle fries. Unique. Addictive. Slightly controversial at first bite… then suddenly everyone’s fighting over them.
Dessert menu isn’t huge, but the crème brûlée is intensely rich—more Paris pâtisserie than American sugar bomb. For my early birthday, they surprised me with a cookie ice cream and candle. Classy touch.
Service was polished and attentive without hovering—every detail handled seamlessly. The only tiny note? Tables run a bit petite… but that just makes it feel even more authentically French.
Pro tip: valet at the hotel and you’ll get a discounted rate ($10 instead of $28). Easy in, easy out.
Overall? Elevated, authentic, and effortlessly refined.
Bravo, Chardon. A very grown-up kind of fabulous.
The food itself was excellent, especially the endive Caesar salad and the bread. They were a surprise hit in our group.
The seafood tower was also great. Oysters were briney and sweet, the lobster was perfectly cooked, and the deviled blue crab was seasoned well. Definitely a must try.
The beef cheek bourguignon is rich and well balanced…pairing very well with the house red, which was also a well balanced red blend.
The filet was cooked very well, but the bourdelais sauce was a little underwhelming. That might have been the only low point of the evening, but the dish itself was excellent.
Overall, it was a very enjoyable meal with a pleasant front of house team, well executed dishes, and a gorgeous setting.
The hostess was friendly and pleasant!
All of the staff members who approached our table were welcoming.
Our waiter, Gabriel was awesome, attentive, had a great sense of humor and personable.
The ambience was a mixture of French inspiration & upscale chic.
The brunch was good and had adequate options and the mocktail options were plentiful for me, lol.
Will definitely try them again.
Wow — this place is easily one of my top favorite restaurants across the U.S. The décor is stunning, the service is impeccable, and the food is absolutely outstanding. I loved it so much I dined here two nights in a row — it’s that good!
Highly recommend trying the burger, steak, and chicken — each one cooked to perfection. And don’t skip dessert; it’s worth every bite.
Thank you to the team at Chardon for a truly memorable birthday dinner. I’m already looking forward to coming back the next time I’m in Houston!
My girlfriend and I came at first for some happy hour drinks and appetizers – they were great. We shared the Salade Verte and I really enjoyed the Dijon vinaigrette on it. For our entrees she got the Burger and I got the Beef Cheek Bourguignon. It was extremely tender and flavorful. For dessert we had the Crunchy Profiteroles. I’ve never had a dessert like that before, and the sauce drizzled over is delicious.
Service was great as well. Seyara was a fantastic server and bartender, and was very friendly and personable.
Would highly recommend this restaurant to anyone in the area looking a great experience.
As an experienced foodie, I can honestly say this new spot completely blew me away. From the moment we walked in, the vibe was effortlessly stylish yet welcoming—a perfect blend of modern design and elegance.
The food? Absolutely phenomenal. Every dish was bursting with flavor, perfectly balanced, and beautifully plated. You can tell there’s true passion and creativity behind the menu. The drinks were just as impressive—Self, the bartender, was an artist behind the bar. He crafted both on- and off-menu cocktails that were some of the best I’ve had in the city. Each sip was a surprise in the best way possible.
What really set the experience apart was the hospitality. The owner personally came over to welcome us, chatted for a bit, and even sent out complimentary treats that made us feel genuinely cared for. That kind of personal touch is rare these days—and it’s what makes this place so special.
This restaurant isn’t just a meal—it’s an experience. From the atmosphere to the service, it embodies everything that makes Houston dining great: creativity, warmth, and world-class hospitality.
Go now !!!!A new Houston favorite!
The food was tasty, but honestly quite ordinary. The chicken tasted just like regular chicken, and the $17 salad wasn’t particularly special — something you could easily make at home. The menu also felt rather limited, without many interesting or unique options.
Overall, it’s a nice place if you’re looking for a beautiful setting and good service. But if you’re after a memorable culinary experience, this might not be the spot.
Unfortunately, the service didn’t match the atmosphere. Even though the restaurant was far from busy, our server took a long time to bring simple requests. There was no sense of urgency or attentiveness, which was surprising given how quiet it was.
On the positive side, the food was excellent. The presentation was thoughtful, and everything we ordered was flavorful and well-prepared. The espresso martini had a smooth balance of coffee and sweetness, the baked crab dish was rich and satisfying, and the steak frites were cooked perfectly, with tender meat and crisp, seasoned fries cooked in duck fat.
The drinks were decent overall — nothing groundbreaking, but enjoyable enough to complement the meal. Still, great food and drinks can only go so far when the service leaves you feeling overlooked.
I had been looking forward to trying Chardon and, in terms of the menu, it delivered. However, dining out is as much about the experience as it is about the food, and the inattentive service made this visit less enjoyable than it could have been. For that reason, while I appreciated the flavors and the setting, this will likely be a one-and-done for me.
