This is a nice takeout place in Parkville. Got the pit beef and fries with a drink for the combo. The sandwich was on a roll. They offered rye and wheat also which maybe I should have done. The roll was a bit thick which overpowered the beef. The beef was a little more well done than I prefer but it was tasty.

Need to have a better explanation on food when ordering online.

Have been going here for years, pit beef sandwich with onion BBQ and horseradish. Couldn’t even count how many of those ice crushed lol. Ribs are good too. Had a majority of the things on the menu, one thing I’ve been disappointed with is themac n cheese. They should rework the recipe.

I have been going to the charcoal grill for decades. I’ve had friends that worked where in high school and it was the best pit beef around. Within the last few years, it has gone downhill dramatically. Every employee there seems to hate their job. Nobody is nice and it seems like a inconvenience for them to help you. Twice now I ordered a regular beef, medium on a roll with yellow mustard and raw onion and twice I’ve gotten the sandwich with mayonnaise. How irritating to have someone literally give you the wrong thing when you clearly ask for it. It’s a shame that it’s gotten this bad. I know it doesn’t matter to you all but it sucks to have to go somewhere else when all you need to do is show a little niceness to people buying your food.

I’ve been eating here for years. Wish they would spend more time on the slow cook and glazing. Plus my fries weren’t seasoned. This is only rib option in vicinity. Other options are cockeysville..

Food is good but prices are ridiculous almost $15 for pit beef sandwich and jr.fry .. shouldn’t cost no more than $10 .if dropped your prices you do better business.. that’s the word on the street prices way to high……

I’ll be honest, this place was a little bit disappointing. I’ll give them credit, they make food fast, but maybe they should slow it down a little bit. Fries were over cooked, beef had all the appeal of a convenience store hotdog. Portions were tiny. The kids meal had a more substantial portion of meat than the full size sandwich, maybe I should’ve ordered that. I think once was enough for this place.

It was great. I had to ask for toppings and condiments, I feel pit places should totally supply barbecue sauce for sure. But my pitbeef sandwich was great but I forgot to ask for horseradish sauce. That would have taken my experience to the top.

I have been a faithful & happy customer here for decades. Since the pandemic they have suffered as a small business & I m always in favor of supporting the small local businesses. On Ravens Sunday I wanted to surprise my wife w/a rack of baby back ribs ($16.95/whole rack only). Left at halftime. I got 2 racks & 10 Buf wings (can only buy in quantities of 10!!??). Guess they didn’t want more $ for in-between # & just add price for ea addtnl? The wings were really good but could have used a little more Buf Sauce, but very good, juicy, tender & lg sized. The ribs were just disappointing. Spent $34 on ribs that were not fresh, tough, did not come off the bone, dry & of left over taste. Have over a rack left over & not sure if they w/be eaten unless I try to slow cook in lots of sauce to improve what was always a good experience. Never experienced this before! The large cup of fries were $7.50 & could have been better. I spent over $60. I like the CG & it’s rough edges & it’s history of good food. Terrible to think but not sure if I w/go again after 30+ yrs. Can’t stop freshness & support faithful customers coming back! I was the only car in lot, but another came for quick pick up over a +/-15 min visit. I tried to call 2x but no answer just recording abt difficult times & that was at halftime.

This was the worst ribs and it happened the last time too, but used to be the best. Always try after a bad time because that happens. But two times in a row. The rib were very tough and the cole slaw sour. Hopefully no one eats the slaw tonight. Don’t usually write things but felt it necessary this time.
