Snagged some lunch from Charcoal Deli today for my wife and I and it was fantastic!!! She had the Sammich and said it was perfect! Wonderfully cooked and seasoned. I had half a rack of ribs with fries and some endz. Oh they were good, the ribs were tender but still held to the bone just enough, it was excellent! And the endz with Cajun sauce, oh they were good. I love getting food from here and I can speak highly enough about Charcoal Deli!!! It’s probably the best BBQ I’ve had since moving to Maryland!!!

Cold bun, not alot of meat and doesn’t hold a candle to pioneer pit beef. Respectfully not Baltimore best.

I’ve been coming here for 20 years and have never had a bad meal. Prices are fair. Employees are great. The fries are the best in the area. Their iced tea and lemonade is the best in the state. I highly recommend Charcosl Deli.

The absolute worst pit beef ever. Dried out and hard and tastesless. The onions on the sandwich were perfumey and rancid. The fries were hard and cold like they were double dipped in old grease. The side of gravy was old brown grease with lumps of white flour. Our entire dinner is in the trash. Never again!!

It’s kind of what you’d expect from a roadside Pit Beef stand. I ordered the pit beef sandwich with horseradish, onion, and mayo. The bun was large and didn’t fall apart in my hand. The meat itself was generous, though a bit dry and sinewy and not as flavorful as I hoped. And while I ordered it medium rare, the meat came out medium. The onions were finely chopped red onions. They were flavorful. French fries were solid.

5 star – ribs, pulled pork sandwich, beach fries, baked beans, and 1/2 and 1/2

3 star – BBQ chicken breast, coleslaw, and Mac and cheese

Avoid the 3 star items and you’ll have an unforgettable meal.

This is a hidden gem. Finger licking, sweet tangy savory bbq, great side salads. Always packaged with rolls and extra napkins. Has become our favorite until PoGreens returns.

I think this is my favorite pit beef spot in the Baltimore area. Fries are almost as good as Thrasher’s. They clearly care about their product and I have never had a bad meal here. Definitely a spot to hit.

Outdoor seating only and there’s no bathroom but the bbq sauce is insane. I generally don’t like bbq sauce but I was literally dipping my fries in it. Ribs are great, chicken was a little dry, great fries. The cucumber and tomato salad could have been fresher but no one is there for the salads

I’m had the beef, it was delicious. With the potatoes salad and an an ice tea. The service was quick and cheap for the amount of food.
