Went to Charcoal in Edmonds on Saturday and had a great experience. We started with the pork belly and burrata, and both were delicious. For dinner, we each ordered the 12oz New York strip, which was cooked perfectly and full of flavor. The atmosphere and overall vibe were excellent. For drinks, we had the Kung Fu Lollipop and Tango with Frida, and both were fun, well-crafted, and definitely snuck up on you. Everything we tried was spot on, and we’ll definitely be back.

Everything was delicious. We went on a Monday and they had great happy hour that was at a quality level. Only concern was that the food was not hot enough when it came out.

A must. Top notch dishes and service. The calamari had a Smokey flavor to it that is one of a kind. All the dishes were fantastic and Anne our server was so pleasant. The art is from next door and we were able to tour the art when we were done w our dinner. Cocktails were impressive and also very fresh. Go go go!!!

I cannot overstate how much we enjoyed our experience at Charcoal. The food was delicious, wonderful service, and the location perfect. We enjoyed a pasta with prawns, cauliflower appetizer, and ashes pork. All were fantastic and just the right amount for two. We also enjoyed a Hemingway#2 and French Bishop cocktails. The space is open and has a modern feel. I highly recommend this gem for a nice night out. We plan to return again.
Update December 2024:
We returned and it was terrific. Additional pictures added.

Hands down our favorite spot for a nice dinner in Edmonds. The space has a great vibe — warm and welcoming without trying too hard. Every dish we’ve had, from appetizers to mains, has been spot on. The sides are creative and change often enough to keep things interesting, which makes it easy to come back and try something new. Good wine selection too, and for the quality, the pricing feels more than fair. Definitely worth checking out if you’re looking for something a little special without being over the top.

Had several dishes during happy hour. Most of it was delicious. The pickled veggies were very average at best; they didn’t really fit the rest of the food, which was good. Their signature charcoal cook definitely gives the food a great flavor.

Awesome new spot for us. We had the pork belly lettuce wraps and the mixed grill platter. At $90 for two people it was a great deal. Will definitely be back. Wish I’d take the photo before we dug into the platter but It him this gives you an idea… Highly recommend!

A delightful Father’s Day experience that made my taste buds dance.
Food, drinks, dessert, and the staff were all exceptional. The duck breast was perfection and paired beautifully with the sweet potato and berry sauce. The cocktails were delicious and not overly sweet. The strawberry lemon tart was balanced and a perfect finish to the meal.
Well worth the cost. Can’t wait to go back!

Wow? Restaurants are about food and how food can serve to bring people together (or even to oneself for those who enjoy eating alone). Charcoal had good food and did not need to mask it with an overly-thought building, a service that makes your uncomfortable by how much juggling the servers do to bring food to your table, or a menu with dishes you have no idea what they are.
The building itself is very nice, don’t get me wrong, and clearly someone put thought in it – being side by side with an art gallery might be part of it. Our server was fantastic and there was always someone getting your dishes out, or glasses – which for me is not something I take into consideration but I want to ensure the staff is properly recognized.
Overall, please go to this place if you want good food. Support local business and local workers.
