Best BBQ spot I’ve been to!! The foods amazing & the service is amazing! I ordered the rib plate to go with beans and potato salad, it came with a slice of bread, a slice of cake and a soda. Taste absolutely delicious 10/10, Characters is the place to be!

The BBQ was outstanding! I loved the ribs and the potato salad. The ribs were full of flavor and tasted amazing. The brisket was super tender. The potato salad was very tasty and had a slight sweetness to it. The BBQ was so authentic and delicious. Very nice staff and got to meet the owner Mike who was super cool and friendly. Would definitely be back again. Thanks for the delicious authentic BBQ!

I heard of Characters BBQ from BBQ Pitmasters TV show and I decided to take the 2 1/2 hour drive and give it a try. Needless to say as soon as I walk in the door, I was warmly greeted by the staff and Mr Character. I told him I had driven up from the Mac specifically to try his famous BBQ. The Mac by the way is Macon, Georgia. I ordered a bit of everything on the menu…lol. I have tasted the ribs, brisket, chicken and pork and Mr. Character I must say you did not disappoint AT ALL!! Thank you also for taking time out of your busy day to take a photo with me. I will definitely visit again!! Very soon!!

It was on point. We first heard of this place on the BBQ Pitmasters shows. I must say that the “Characters” there were super nice, friendly and don’t meet strangers. We stopped by headed north on I-75 for our 40th anniversary trip. The chopped pork, chicken and ribs were so good. I was glad we took the short detour to try this food out. We will return and eat there again. Thanks for your hospitality, food and for your service to this great country Mr. Character. This may be my second post for this but it was just that good.

This place is absolutely amazing. You can smell the scent of smoking meat as soon as you get out of your car. We were greated very warmly when we stepped through the front door. The restaurant reminded me of stepping into one of my uncle’s house. The smooth music was playing, laughter could be heard while we were waiting on our food. And it felt like I was family there. Even with it being my first time stepping foot into the place. Now to the food. The ribs were amazingly tender. They had the perfect amount of smoke on them. The brisket was fork tender as well. It contained a beautiful smoke ring to show that he had been taken care of properly. The chopped chicken had the right balance of savory flavor accompanied by the light tingle of spice. The black pepper worked extremely well with the bbq sauce. And the pulled pork was tender and juicy as well. All of the plates come with two sides, bread, and pound cake. Order the three meats at your own risk, it is enough food to feed 2 people. The baked beans had a thick consistency and were full of meat and a hint of smoke flavor that brought it to the next level. The potato salad had a creamy consistency and it seemed as if it had some of the bbq rub on top of it. All in all, it was the last piece of the plate to bring everything together. This is exactly what BBQ should be like. Smoked meat that’s full of flavor and done the right way. We will be back for sure.

We drove about 2 hrs from Tennessee to try this place out and it did not disappoint. Best tasting BBQ I have eaten by far. I ordered the rib and beef plate that comes with 2 sides dessert and bread. Not only was the food amazing, the staff is very kind and friendly. Mr. Character even took a moment away from the kitchen to take a photo with me. If you’re ever passing through the area on I-75 look them up and if they are open you better stop, you won’t be disappointed.

If y’all are ever up in Adairsville, Georgia, y’all need to stop in at Character’s BBQ!! I first found out about Michael’s place when I started watching BBQ Pitmasters and BBQ Pit Wars. I started watching because I’m a huge fan of Myron Mixon, but quickly found a yearning to want to visit a lot of the different Pitmasters that were on the show. I became a huge fan of Michael’s as well. We started out on our 40th Wedding Anniversary trip today and that was our first stop. Let me tell you…you have got to go and get some of his amazing food and meet him! He is the most genuine person and has an amazing attitude and his crew is as amazing as he is!! They are so welcoming!! We will most definitely be back for some of his delicious food! We got a chicken plate with baked beans and slaw. It came with bread a drink and a slice of pound cake. Also got a pork sandwich with chips. We were blessed with 2 ribs for our anniversary. OMG!!! Best ribs I’ve had!!!
