Work Diner was amazing !!! Thank you to my amazing Boss mateo for bringing us to try Char steakhouse .. the appetizers were amazing and the meat was very tender. The Tartufo was the cherry on top!

Do not order from the Tuesday special menu. We made that mistake and we seriously regretted it. I ordered a steak that looked like it was forcefully cooked while frozen. I have no words to describe the taste and texture but it was inedible. My wife had the filet of sole from the Tuesday special menu and it was horrible. The fish smelled like sulfur and the taste was awful. She took one bite and later that night threw up from the lingering bad taste that she could not get rid of. We gave both dishes back and ordered a 20oz porterhouse which was excellent. The manager’s response, “you get what you pay for. $30 for a four-course meal is not going to be good”. So don’t just take it from me, take it from management itself. Don’t order from the Tuesday special menu. My advice to management, if you’re going to offer a deal, at least make it safe to eat, maybe even add a little pride in what you are offering your customers.

Since its been a while from the original review. Came for dinner again. I had the dry aged NY strip and scallops. Both were very good. Steak was cooked exactly i asked. Drinks were good as well. It is still very loud though but Will be back again and would definitely recommend.

There is a bar separate from the dining room which a couple of tvs. My only real negative is that it is way too loud in there. You have to almost yell just to the person across the table. Picture a room full of people doing that you will get the idea. Need to fix the acoustics in there

Scrumptious Steakhouse conveniently located approximately 100 yards from the Taconic State Parkway on/off exit at Bryant Pond Road. I have been here before for dinner and the food, service and ambiance was excellent. I decided to stop in for the Sunday Happy Hour at the bar and once again had a pleasant time. The bartender, Anthony greeted us upon arrival and served us delicious, discounted beverages and tapas as we sat at a table in the bar area. Awesome service, food and great time.

Reason to come here i’m not wanting to normally review a restaurant, but I was here for the first time tonight and Eric, Mark and Nikki alongside the rest of the staff that we’re here made this night. Amazing I really can’t thank them enough for their promptness. They’re attentiveness. The food wasn’t another level, but again I can’t stress the fact of how the staff members really made the atmosphere made the ambience all hit right Thank you so much for a great meal. Will definitely be back. Recommend you guys to everyone.

What a great place! The portion sizes were very big. I had the filet of sole, and my husband had the zupe di pesce. Both tasted amazing. Food came out quickly and beautifully plated. Our waiter was friendly and attentive. We will definitely be going back again.

In November of 2023, I brought and treated my wife and myself for dinner at the Char Steakhouse & Bar, specifically the branch based in Mahopac, NY, and we had a wonderful dining experience!!!
We were kindly welcomed and warmly treated by the restaurant’s staff and we were provided with the best table in the restaurant, one closely located to the fireplace. Our server, Nikki H treated us with impeccable customer service by providing us with a detailed overview of the menu options and specials and carefully noting our meal selections. She also routinely checked with us to see if we were enjoying our meals. We give a huge two thumbs up to the service provided by Nikki H.
In addition to enjoying our service, both my wife and I absolutely loved our meals and found that it was perfect cooked, seasoned and unbelievably tasty and delicious!!! My wife ordered and enjoyed her steak based entree while I ordered and loved my burger based entree. It was unquestionably one of the best meals we’ve ever had!!!

Staff is incredible, food is phenomenal. Had the fillet with an assortment of sauces (couldn’t decide on one!), fried calamari appetizer was tender and not fishy at all. Great for a special occasion restaurant or just when you feel like a treat.

Went in for dinner, got the Oscar and a salad with steak. I’ve been attending Char for years unfortunately my last visit was underwhelming. We didn’t receive our bread, the food wasn’t as hot as I would have expected.
Also for the price the presentation wasn’t at the price point.
Overall Char is probably best for the steak. I tried to go outside the steak norm and wouldn’t recommend but the steak menu is very good.
