Price is reasonable but the quality is quite abismal. Ordered a hot dog at 11am and it just have been in boiling water for hours it was soggy, and brown in the middle. At least it didn’t cost an arm and a leg but there’s clearly not much care put into putting the food together.
Edit: to be fair, the fries are pretty good

Stopped by Char-Grill near the airport and it absolutely hit the spot.
If you know, you know — Char-Grill is classic North Carolina. Simple, no-frills, made-to-order burgers done right. The char-broiled flavor is what sets it apart. You can literally taste that flame-grilled goodness in every bite. The toppings are fresh, the orders come out quick, and it’s just solid comfort food.
It’s the perfect stop when you’re flying in or out of the area — quick, affordable, and way better than typical airport food options. Nothing fancy, just really good burgers and that old-school drive-in feel.
If you’re near RDU and want something local and reliable, this is a must.

One of the better and more affordable food options at RDU terminal 1. I ordered Chili cheese french fries, which didnt look too appetizing at first, but the taste was actually good (maybe a little too salty). The staff member (manager?) was very kind and the service was quick. The eating area is also clean. They share the space with like a cantina next door

Service was bad. The girl taking the orders had zero manners until she seen me take a photo for my review. The sausage egg and cheese was good but the potato tots were greasy and stuck together as if they were recooked. Sweet tea was too sweet. Service is as if they know they have nobody else to work there and they know they’re needed and they have no respect for the customer.

The lady clerk was not very hospitable. Not very helpful. The service was somewhat lazy. Typical airport priced food. Half of our order was not placed in the bag. Only the sausage, egg, and cheese sandwich. The hash browns were either reheated or refried. They were very greasy and stuck together. The sweet tea is very sweet almost like nectar. They act like you’re bothering them if you ask for more ice because the tea is still hot.

RDU Airport by gate A5- Single char burger with cheese, chili, tomato, jalapeño, grilled onions, and pickle. Side of good fries- order ranch for them. They grilled my burger and onions to order!

A North Carolina institution especially if you live in the Triangle. The food is every bit as good as the brick and mortal locations but of course you’re paying airport prices. Get your hot dog with mustard chili and onions if you’re new. The burgers and juicy and sizable. The fries are just fries. Bonus points for having beers on hand.

Either way, the service is universally good with friendly Carolinians who always seem to brighten up my day after a difficult trip.

Very, very slow service. English is a second language, so it was difficult placing and picking up an order. Burger was burnt to a crisp. Prices are super high. Avoid if you can. Not clean with dirty counter.

And I guess the employees are not responsible for cleaning the dining area or taking out the trash! The first thing they reach you in an establishment that serves food, I would think. Wonder why they have such a low star rating-proof…

I asked for a grilled chicken and a vanilla shake. They rang up my order as a grilled cheese and a chocolate shake. I fought against the shake flavor change but gave up on the sandwich. I took it as a sign that I was meant to go less expensive on my lunch.
The grilled cheese was very petite, but, at least as far as small grilled cheese go, decently flavorful. The shake was by the books, though the size was quite big, especially for an airport.
All in all I’d say I’m not planning on going back here but I don’t know where else within Terminal 1 is worth going. I’ll probably be back. Maybe I’ll get luckier next time. I know I’ll at least be more attentive to how my order gets printed off.
