Passed by this burrito joint while visiting the finger lakes, and we stopped in for lunch. It was a great choice.
The place has a cool vibe; exposed brick and wide plank floors, chalked up menu.
We were happily greeted by the staff, and they quickly put our orders together. We got one burrito and two bowls. The staff talked us through the order,
putting each one together with the several choices of fixins. It’s like that burrito chain (rhymes with Bipotlay), but the staff are cool and happy, and the food looks super fresh.
Three meals came to about $35 total, so affordable.
Bowls were stacked, and the burrito was big, about the size of a prairie dog. Ish.
Taste was great. A little more kick or spice in some of the food would have made it all perfect. (I got mild salsa in my burrito; should have gone with medium or hot).
You can’t go wrong with this place. The food is good and affordable, the vibe is chill, and the staff is super friendly and happy!
We can’t wait to come back!

Beef was ice cold. It came from what looked like a hot bar that they make in front of you, but no excuse for ice cold meat on a flimsy taco shell. Not to mention how pricey this place is.
Their building needed a good snow shovel out front too. Icy conditions.

Huge taco! It was so big it was next to impossible to eat. I got it to go and didn’t get a fork, it was a mess.

I had to come give it another shot because the food was good it was just hard to eat. So today I went back got a Bowl and it was Amazing. They don’t skimp on portions and I think that’s why my Taco was so hard to eat!!
I will be back.

I’ve been to Char multiple times over the years and always try to stop in when I’m passing through town. The reason being is that this place is like Chipotle but with more ingredient options, better value, and more fresh tasting. The staff is always cheery and in a good mood which also helps.

Good Mexican food in Geneva. Street parking available. The employee who took my order looked distracted and did not mention or apply the final sauces. Another employee handling the order for the rest of the family was a lot more friendlier and happily went through the order, mentioning and applying all the options available. Seeing this, the employee who took my order apologized and applied the topping sauce to my order. Hence the 4 stars and not 5.

I have never walked away from this establishment unhappy. Their food is always fresh, seasoned well, and you definitely get your money’s worth.
The service is fast, assembly line style, and all of the people working are always cool and polite. This seems to be one of the only places I can think of lately that doesn’t seem short-staffed, at least not during the weekday lunch rush.
I’ve been happy with their burritos and tacos, but the rice bowl is what has my heart, and for under $15 (depending on toppings) the bowl feeds me for two meals.
I hope Char remains a staple in Geneva for a long, long time.

I came in today during a DoorDash pickup. I never heard of the place and i immediately said hm let me try it out for my dinner. I let the lady know I’ve never been here and she walked me through the whole process without any hassle. She let me know what was what, and explained every ingredient. I was really happy with the service. The bowl ended up being delicious! Pretty hefty portions for the price. 10/10 will be back 🙂

Wow, this place is UNREAL! I got 3 tacos because I wanted to try different things. Got chicken, beef and pork and had different sauces put on each. The tacos were loaded with meat. The meat was so fresh and flavorful. And the sauces! Do yourself a favor and get the southwest ranch and chipotle bbq. After those two, my taste buds were sorry I chose sour cream on one, although it was still delicious. 10 stars!
