My previous review accidentally submitted, here’s the full review:

Back in 2022, we went here and had a great time during the time of the shut down. The service was kind, the food tasted great, overall it was one for the books! If I posted a review back then it would have been a 5 out of 5, unfortunately that wasn’t the case recently in 2026. Yesterday we went there to celebrate my mother – in – laws birthday and when we got there the waitress did not make it a pleasant experience. She was harsh toned and short with taking our orders. She was disrespectful to my children and to my wife and my father in law how she spoke to him when setting the food on the table. When we received the bill, we saw the automatic gratuity and I am aware it says that on the menu, but I believe that a tip is earned and a thank you forgood. I work hard for my money, I just now

I work hard for my money, I went up to the front desk to get it taken off, we asked to speak with the manager and our waitress told us 3 or 4 times that there was no manger on shift, she finally got someone in charge and they helped take it off. I am all about giving tips, just not for any kind of service.

I ordered the Irish omelet that was on special. The cornbeef was very good but the hash browns were under cooked and there was no cheese on it. I asked the waitress before I order it what kind of cheese was on it and she told me Swiss. My toast was cold and crumbled when I tried to eat it.

1at time going there about a month ago it was perfect. This time around not so much. Anything that was cooked in the deep fryer you could easily tell the oil was old. All the fried appetizers taste the same because of it. I ordered my burger medium rare and it was well overcooked. I did mention it to the waitress and I also said I would eat it so i didn’t expect her to offer to remake it. I didn’t want to wait because it did take a little while for the food to come out to begin with. She did offer a free dessert but I was a little too disappointed in my burger and the appetizers to even consider trying something else.

Came in on Valentine’s Day….pretty busy but plenty of room at the bar. Courtney behind the bar was on top of things all the way through initial drinks to dessert. The food was exceptional as always. This matched with superior service from Courtney is why I keep coming back

In the heart of Lakeview, Michigan, stands Chapz Roadhouse—a place that, unbeknownst to me, would offer an experience both memorable and enlightening.

Upon entering, the ambiance wrapped around me like a familiar melody, evoking a sense of comfort. The service, though unhurried, seemed to encourage a leisurely pace, allowing us to fully immerse ourselves in the experience. Our server, despite the bustling environment, exuded warmth and genuine care, embodying the dedication often found in those who serve.

Adjacent to our table, a lively group engaged in animated conversation, their exuberance adding a vibrant energy to the room. While their enthusiasm was palpable, it occasionally overshadowed the otherwise serene atmosphere. Such moments serve as gentle reminders of the diverse tapestry of human interaction that communal dining brings together.

The cheese curds arrived as golden morsels of joy, their crispy exteriors giving way to molten centers that delighted the palate. The homemade ranch, albeit thick, added a comforting richness to each bite.

Opting for the smothered chicken as my main course felt serendipitous. The generous portion, seasoned and cooked to perfection, was accompanied by a baked potato that, though firm, reflected the occasional imperfections that make dining experiences uniquely memorable.

My companion, Jim, found satisfaction in the Chapz burger—a towering creation lavishly adorned with beer cheese. Its saucy exuberance served as a gentle nudge to embrace life’s messy, flavorful adventures without hesitation.

As we departed, a realization settled within me: Chapz Roadhouse offers more than just a meal. It’s a testament to the beauty of shared experiences, where diverse energies converge, and where the essence of dining transcends the food itself. In the grand tapestry of life’s journey, this experience has woven a thread of warmth and appreciation that will linger in my memory.

If you have the craving for a steak then this is the place! I will say that you pay for what you get here all their cuts are top notch and their sides are all home style it will make the dining experience feel like your at home eating. And if you enjoy sweets then the freshly made cinnamon rolls are amazing!! the other fresh made options are just as good. over all this is a place to bring the family or a loved one for a date night.

AMAZING service and atmosphere, but some members of my party thought that their meals (chicken enchiladas and the hot beef plate) could have had more meat, but they weren’t bad. Also, the Mac and cheese was pretty good, but didn’t have a particularly strong flavor. Drinks (soda and water) were good!

Saturday night wanting a great steak from Chaps as we know they can do it Yes the steak was amazing however, first baked potato brought with meal was old cut into it and it’s split in middle meaning over done… asked for another one they took our potatoes back heated them up and brought back the same ones … thought we said “cold” no we said “old” look at them … ok ill bring you another one … 5 minutes later and even older one with skin peeling off brown inside and gross… Come on you are in the middle of potato country you can make fresh bakers everyday… never offered another option .. just attitude and just gave us the check… not offering dessert ..here’s your check! So very disappointing! Way better to say 86 bakers than serving old and gross.

Restaurant closes at 10 but they close off the booth section before 7pm . Came in at 640pm with my 4 & 6 year old little girls and husband and was told the only section open was the bar area. High tables and seats at the bar were the only available options. Full bar and 2 full high tables of all grown adult men.

Ashame because we heard the steak was good there from locals and we all had a taste for some delicious red meat.

Lose lose … Think outside the box, crude snobby hostess…
