The food was great for the most part. I had the big john which was stellar in quality and size being a monster sandwich for a modest price. My dad had the gravy fries and the franchise both of which were amazing. Our friend had the habbit and a pound of ribs which were also perfect. The meat was cooked well and perfectly juicy. The reason i can’t give this place five stars is they use peanut oil for their fried food and chicken which i am deathly allergic too and they had no alternative. So this place is percect if you can eat peanuts and close to perfect if you can’t

Stick to the house specialty, the pit beef. My buddy had a corned beef sandwich and wasn’t very impressed. I got the ham/beef sandwich and it was really good. They have plenty of outdoor seating, which is nice during Covid. The fries were good, but not great, a tad overcooked. My review is really based on the pit beef, which was excellent.

Great wings and good pit beef but a little pricey. Service was friendly and efficient. Two pit beef platters, 6 wings and two sodas were $38 which is a bit on the expensive side for a lunch for two. The medium rare beef was good; the wings were huge and crispy on the outside but juicy on the inside.

Finally a sandwich place that doesnt play around !! Pretty much the Best pit style sandwich ive ever had compared to some other places!! Probably the thinnest Corned beef ive ever seen and the burger has this Beautiful Crisp char on the outside!! #1 Highly recommended!!

They just opened the new Frederick location at 10:30am so I made sure to have one of my employees be there waiting for one of the first sandwiches. He ordered two ravens and I met him in the parking lot to pickup. It smelled too good to wait so i parked the car and ate it in the car. Great flavor, just the right smoke, big sandwich. Would definitely recommend and will be back to try everything on the menu.

Just dropped in the grab some fries. Was not impressed as although I asked to have them fried an extra min so that they were crispy, they were not. I guess someone that wanted beef should perform this review, I would think everything on the menu should be good. I will say they were plentiful!

Love this place. Best pit beef anywhere. And their combo sandwiches are loaded with meat! Some other place says they have the meats but they have nothing on this place. The Raven might be the best sandwich I’ve ever had anywhere

Excellent service, great open faced sandwich. Turkey was tender and went well with the gravy over the potato bread underneath. Fries seemed a touch overcooked but maybe that was the idea for adding gravy on top, which was fine.
Would definitely order again. Can’t wait to try other menu options.

Finally made it to Chaps in Baltimore for some of the mosr delicious Pit Beef I’ve ever had. The smoke charcoal flavor and tenderness of the beef was so good. It totally lived up to my hype as I’ve been wanting to come to OG Pit Beef place since I first saw it on DDD years ago. Absolutely one of the best sandwiches Ive ever had anywhere.

The beef sandwich was exceptional. Even though there’s an assortment of sauces to put on it, I thought the sandwich tasted best without any sauce since that allowed the grilled flavor to shine through. I also thought the green beans and mac and cheese sides were good.
