This place is self-seating then they come on over and ask you if you want their buffet or something from the kitchen and what you want to drink. Their hot chocolate is good! Breakfast food for the buffet lasts till 1 pm and consists of eggs, hash browns, bacon, sausage, fruit, biscuits and gravy, and sweet rolls.

Normally in more rural areas you are stuck with whatever restaurant there is. NOT with Chap’s. I eat here almost every day. Great food with great value thats tastes wonderful. Staff is friendly, particularly Shayna. She goes above and beyond to learn regulars names and their preferences. The cook or cooks seem to make alot of dishes made to order. I cannot recommend this place enough. Definitely worth the stop in if you are in the Richmond area. French Onion soup, Blackened Caesar Salad and the Black & Bleu burger are definitely worth the try. Also they are quick and efficient

Not my first choice for eating. I know it has been under new management and one of the main reasons I’ve held out from eating here. Decided to give it a try and no. The clam chowder was awful no flavor just potatoes and clam, not to mention it was way too thick. The Cajun trio was terrible. Cooked fish with zero flavor heavily seasoned after cooking. The shrimp was tough as rubber and the loaded baked potato was not baked. Could definitely tell the potatoes was boiled first.

Great service, food was awesome, and prices were great!!! The interior was comfortable and clean! It was quite busy on a Friday night, still got in right away and got a seat, seemed like they might have had only one cook it took a while to get our order, but all in all still a great place to eat!

This was our first time here. The food was awesome!! A great corned beef and swiss sandwich. We also had enchiladas that were cheap on lunch special. The beer was served in a mason jar and was cold. The waitress was super nice and brought us everything we needed. It wasn’t busy at all but we came in at 1pm on a weekday so that made sense. Would come back!

I hade the chicken fajitas and they were absolutely amazing! Chicken- tender and cook to perfection, veggies slightly burnt which I would say which also tasted great..after that I saw 3 more come out of the kitchen

Last year the portions were excellent and the pricing wasn’t too bad. Over the last few months I’ve noticed that the portions became a lot smaller, especially with the fish and service was becoming sub-par, such as missing condiments and rushy employees… Recently we heard that Chap’s is under new ownership, so we had hoped that there were improvements, tho we we’re disappointed yet again. Not only are the fish portions still skimpy, but the prices went up drastically. Pretty bummed out.. I will say tho that the staff pays much better attention and are more friendly, but unfortunately that’s not a saving grace.
