Went here for my birthday. Came into town to celebrate my birthday with my brother. Quick to be seated. Atmosphere comfy. Easy to chat with everyone. Loved the chips and salsa. I ordered carne asada, one of my favs at other Mexican restaurants. It was very tender, well seasoned and I loved it.
Hope to return when back in town.

We recently moved to the south side of Eugene and went looking for dinner and decided on Chapalas for take home dinner. The staff was super nice, the atmosphere was seemed chill for the short amount of time we had to wait cause the food came quickly. We spend $37 for our dinner which I feel is normal pricing. We’re pretty use to more seasoned Mexican moving up from living in California but will say the burritos were big, and very hearty, and I plan to explore the menu more the next time we visit. The food was packaged perfectly for a to go order. I would definitely recommend giving chapalas a shot for your next meal. They did have a sign saying not to park at the Asian market next door cause your car will be towed, but it seemed there’s more then enough parking in the back. Hope this review provides some help picking your next meal.

Great service. Comfortable seating and environment. The chips and salsa and good as was the food. Solid mexican as you would expect. Better than several of the same price range in town. The Pollo fundio was tasty. Will return for a quick convenient bite.

Chapala’s is one of my favorite Mexican restaurants in Eugene. The food portions are generous, even on the lunch menu. The prices are reasonable, especially the lunch special price. I highly recommend this place the next time you want Mexican for lunch!

Ordered a fajita salad + all veggies and shrimp. Waitress didn’t seem to know what I meant even though it was on the menu. Sodas didn’t come until after the food was served. No dressing, had to ask, she’ll tasted a week old. Employee in bathroom didn’t wash his hands after going back to work. Had to get a manager to cash us out, she charged me for chicken even though it’s supposed to come with the salad. $25 for a salad that had undercooked veggies, next to no chicken and no dressing, what a waste of time and money.

Margaritas are legit. The fajitas fell kinda flat. No char. Dry meat. Not a lot of flavor. The service was good tho. It’s hard to get good fajitas this far from the Mexican border I know. I grew up in Texas so I’m spoiled. Over all this is a decent place and I would go back again

Food was good, I’ve experienced better seasoning on the veggie Enchiladas in other Mexican restaurants, but these were pretty good. The salsa is awesome! Chips served warm! I like that they have black beans and brown rice that’s vegan! The kiddos had black bean burritos with with guacamole.

The food here feels homely, and the service is great. I visited here with my boyfriend and he loves this place a whole lot cause the food tasted and reminded him of Mexico. I visit this place whenever I’m close by and never regret coming here at all.
