Chapala Grill is in New Windsor out toward Vails Gate and it’s such a staple when we’re craving Mexican food. This restaurant isn’t your fast food type of Mexican. The details in the colorful carvings on the chairs and tables always make me so happy.
The staff and service are so helpful, attentive, professional.
The drinks, especially margaritas and sangria are delicious.

Love Chapala Grill! My wife and I crave the “Soup Azteca,” especially in the colder months. My go-to is the carnitas tacos, but everything I’ve had has been great. Great margaritas and light/dark Modelo on tap!

I’m 32 and this is my first time I’m writing a restaurant review. I had to…the world needs to know how incredible this place is. From the service to the food, everything is beyond five stars. All I can say is if you are questioning going here, stop questioning and head there. Tonight. I can’t even recommend one particular thing because everything you order will be amazing. This is one of the best restaurants in Orange County. It never disappoints. My favorite dish is the Tacos al Pastor but the birria tacos are a close second. The staff are friendly and provide excellent service. If you need an app suggestion, try the queso fundido.

I really don’t want to bash this place because the staff is very friendly but however I must say that the prices of their food does not match the portion that you’re getting they’re overcharging and giving you little portions. I remember when I first went there I got a bowl of rice now I’m getting one spoon of rice on this big old plate and make it looks like you’re getting a lot of food when you’re really not.I’ve also noticed that their sauce is very watered down. The food does not have a lot of flavor in it like it used to they really just lost their touch and I was very very very very very disappointed today I get it that the prices of things are expensive so you have to raise your prices but at least let people get their money’s worth

I love chapala grill !! my familys favorite place. Any type of celebration the whole family already knows we are going to CHAPALA. The staff is beyond friendly and super attentive along with the food being amazing. Been going here for years and iv never had a bad experience. 10/10 everytime.

Amazing food, drinks and service! Authentic Mexican cuisine, drinks are always good as well. Great atmosphere and decor and seating isn’t cramped. Some Saturdays can be busier than others so call ahead. Food and service will never disappoint.

This place seems to have lost its touch. For one, the “Nacho Supreme” is so small and consisted of maybe 12 soggy chips. There is literally no reason to spend 18 dollars on a side plate of nachos. The fajita combo was lacking on some ingredients (ie plenty of chicken, no mushrooms or shrimp) that was 28 dollars. Overall the food wasn’t lacking in flavor, and it call came out hot, but our server (who sharked us from the waitress who sat us) did NOT check on us at all or even smile once. We were disappointed that the friendly waitress no longer was taking care of us. And this guy left us abandoned in an awkward corner. Shout out to the host and busboy who checked in more than our actual server. I didnt get his name but hes horrible. Wont be back

My hubby and I have been going here for over 2 years now. Sometimes we will meet clients here. Sometimes we will have our dates here. Sometimes we just go because…. the food is best Mexicana we have had outside of Mexico (yeah, including Texas). The staff and the owner are absolutely awesome, professional, friendly, and patient. We greatly value their food and beverage options, but we really love how everything is homemade (even the flan—yum). I wish I could give them 6 stars because this is our favorite Mexican restaurant in the area. If you want authentic and great food with a kick, go here!!
