What an absolutely fantastic experience we had! Immediately as we came in the restaurant was warm and cosy, with gorgeous Christmas trees up, dim relaxed lighting, and a wonderful aura around. Our server was so lovely and she immediately asked about allergies which put my nut allergy at complete ease (particularly with it being a Thai restaurant). She took our order quickly and made sure everything was perfect. The cocktails were phenomenal and the food was outstanding. The dragon fruit sweet and sour chicken is so delicious. Drinks did come out a little late, but they apologised for this and we didn’t mind because the food came out so quickly. Overall a gorgeous experience, I didn’t really want to leave!

We had an incredible experience at Chaophraya. I made a simple request to wish our friend a belated happy birthday with a small note, and the team went above and beyond. They created a beautiful, festive setup that truly overwhelmed us in the best way.
We tried the Tapas set menu as well as dishes from the main menu, and everything was outstanding. The presentation, the flavours, and the attention to detail really showcased classic Thai cuisine at its best.
From the person who greeted us at the entrance to the staff who served our food, everyone was warm, professional and genuinely caring. Their customer service is absolutely first class.
We also loved the stunning view over the city centre which made the whole evening feel even more special.

The food is amazing! The ambience is top notch! Thai tea 10/10. However, I ordered tap water for 2 people and nothing came in. They thought I ordered 2 glasses of thai tea instead. I asked for chili sauce (which they gave me with crackers as complimentary), but they gave me masaman curry soup ??? Also I didn’t see the list of the non-alcoholic drinks in the drink menu. But somehow I could order the best thai tea I’ve had so far in my life because I asked them. But if I missed it in the menu, please correct me if I’m wrong

Amazing as always! The food was absolutely superb at this beautiful restaurant. The staff were incredibly friendly, welcoming, and attentive, which made the whole experience even better.
For lunch we had the beef Thai curry and the king prawn stir fry with sticky rice, and both dishes were packed with flavour and cooked perfectly. The quality of the food is outstanding and you can really taste the freshness of the ingredients.
Highly recommend if you’re looking for delicious Thai food and great service. We will definitely be coming back again!

I have no words to describe how grateful I am for the service food atmosphere and kindness we have received from this establishment. We held our wedding reception here 2 days in a row and it couldn’t have gone better. The managers, chefs and most importantly waiting staff have gone absolutely above and beyond to make this day so special to us. The food couldn’t have been better and with some experience in Thai food I can say this is the best you will ever get. From the bottom of my heart thank you so much to the entire team at Chaopraya Newcastle ❤️

We booked this for a family birthday lunch. I wasn’t particularly looking forward to it as I tend not to like to vibe in shopping centre restaurants. This was an exception as you feel totally removed from the shops. The food and service we lovely and when I mentioned we were celebrating a birthday, they added some lovely touches. Was in Newcastle for work and came across this place by chance. Best meal I have had in ages. The restaurant is centrally located, love the decor and love the vibe. The staff were fabulous. Friendly, attentive, accommodating and really helpful with the menu and checking on allergens and likes/dislikes.
The food was absolutely delicious. Full of flavour, spice level based on your preference and very generous portions.
I am definitely coming back next time I’m here.
