My husband and I went to Chao Baan this past weekend with original plans to go to Seoul Taco. We were feeling adventurous and wanted to try something new. We were so glad we did. I got the Thai Fried Rice with Chicken and he got the Massaman Curry with noodles. Both dishes were delicious!!! We sat at the bar and Bella was the Bartender. She was so sweet and super helpful helping us pick items and cocktails off the menu. It was Happy Hour. By the way, they have Happy Hour everyday 4-6pm closed on Tuesdays. Definitely go try this place out!

Overall, fantastic restaurant! The food was amazing with popping flavor and large portions! I had the whiskey sour and was not disappointed, while most places water down their beverages, Chao Baan does not do this! The drink was amazing and I found the quality was great!

We had crab Rangoon that were probably the best I have ever had, and the Pad Thai was to die for!

Our server was very accommodating to our needs and very respectful. Fantastic service!

Overall, a great place for a family night or romantic date night!

Quite possibly the best tom kha soup I’ve ever had! I went during the happy hour (4-6), and I ordered a drink, appetizer, and the soup as my entree. The spring rolls came out quickly, and they were piping hot and delicious. I was expecting 2-3 spring rolls, and I was pleasantly surprised to see 5. The server was kind and her timing was excellent. The prices are reasonable, too, especially considering the quality and quantity. I had a great experience, and I will definitely be back next time I’m in STL!

Visited the area for work and decided to try this thai place since I’ve heard good things. The server was great and the restaurant is cute/ambiance is good. The drinks were great and appetizer (fish cake) was good. However, the pad see ewe was very heavy on the soy sauce and is salty. The noodles were thin and not the normal wide thick rice noodles I’m used to. The flavor just wasn’t there for me. The papaya salad was good but just too sweet even for a medium spice. The steak salad flavor was great but the meat itself is very dry – not sure if it’s just the area but the meat was lacking. The pad thai was mushy since it was overcooked. I didn’t like it very much. The flavor isn’t bad but doesn’t really taste like pad thai, just like stir fry noodles that’s been soaked too long and then cooked which caused the mushiness of the noodles. The sticky rice itself was also mushy which was disappointing as well.

Overall, the flavors were okay. I’m not sure if I would recommend this as a good place to go for authentic thai food but good for drinks and appetizers.

Limited staff (sign posted on host podium), but delicious food. The portions are more than generous. We ordered #CrabRangoon to share and I had the fried tofu Pad Thai medium. It was yummy even as leftovers! Street parking available. Would recommend.

The service was fine. The Tod Man was absolutely disgusting. My husband could not even swallow it. He said it tasted like plastic. I ordered the Thai fried rice minus the egg, protein and beans. It was cool…non complaints. My husband ordered the Thai fried rice minus the long beans but with chicken. Our beverages (Coke & Sprite) were canned…major downer. The ambience is chill, clean and nice for a casual meal.

The place is modern chic. I love the diversity that it offered. The hostess was nice and our server (young male) was attentive and friendly. The food was good. We came on a Monday evening. It wasn’t busy and the food came out very fresh. I personally enjoyed the flavors. They were overwhelmingly drowned out by sauce. My 15 year old is a picky eater and he really enjoyed his dish. Some things to note, there are no salt/pepper/soy sauce/or other sauces on the tables so you do have to ask for those. The menus are a QR code, so you should be familiar with using that ahead of time. Also, the sodas are canned. (No free refills) It’s in The Grove so it has that casual, lowkey, eclectic vibe. There’s plenty of seating and open space. Overall, it was a good experience.

Went there for Valentines Day and our anniversary. The food was good. The quality of ingredients was very fresh. Our serve TK was very helpful and attentive. I never felt like I had to hound him down. He was always there for us and very respectful with a smile on his face. This was our first time eating here and I would eat here again just to try other dishes. I had the chicken potstickers which were a good portion. I also had the red curry but it wasn’t too sweet. When I make mine at home it’s a bit sweeter. It’s okay though, everything else was very good. We tried the clear and loathing drink which was a bit tart but still its a drink that looks like water and that can be dangerous. lol. overall I give this place 4 stars. It was nice, clean, great servers, and quality food. Right next to other establishments and close to parking.

I came here for dinner because I was craving Thai food. Upon arrival, I was immediately seated at my table, and a server came to get my drink and appetizer orders. I knew what I wanted the moment I sat down. I ordered Thai tea, eggroll, and beef Kua Ling. The food was okay, and it was bland. I was expecting so much flavor, like most Thai food places I have visited. I guess this place was a spot if you wanted a quick Asian food when you are super hungry.

The interior of the restaurant is cute, and it is very welcoming. I wish the food were better, though.
