Fairly large portions, but the quality of the food is severely lacking. The “fried” rice is not actually fried. Worst General Tso’s chicken I’ve ever had. The only good thing on the menu was the egg foo young, but they don’t have it any more. Also the chicken wings are kinda sweet, which I do not like.

My friend And I were looking online for their menu and we decided on our dinner. She called in our order and after I picked two items, both of the items I chose for dinner told to my friend that they did not have it. (Seafood delight and shrimp with snow peas). So after not knowing what to order, she said she would call them back after we decided. I had two other choices, Hunan shrimp which they said they did not have. Then I tried shrimp with lobster sauce. They did have that. My friend ordered curry chicken. She also ordered two egg rolls. ($1.25 each). When I went in to pick it up, it was not ready. We went back to my friend’s house and ate dinner. The egg rolls tasted like dog food and was mushy. I never had shrimp with lobster sauce so I’m not sure what it’s supposed to taste like, but I ended up adding a packet of hot sauce to get some flavor. My friend did like her curry chicken. For $35.25, the food was definitely not worth it.
There is no tables inside to eat at and they have PA skill games that you can play. It’s on a corner in the city and it’s very hard to find parking.

The chicken wings with tostones used to be the best in town. Even though, is not easy to deal with so many people, The cashier lady is rude. She makes customers feel like they’re begging for free food. The place seems to be clean but that’s just the area people can see. Also, prices are going up due to the demand. I don’t even go there anymore. When I crave Chinese food, I go straight to the Jumbo now call Regals Buffett.

Chan’s fried chicken is really good! I love their wings, but their half fried chicken always catches my eye because it looks so good! The food never tastes old always fresh, and the restaurant is really clean. You have to try Chan’s at least once to understand.

From time to time when I lived on the south side, they were my go to take out. I would ONLY ALWAYS order fried wings with shrimp fried rice, their rice was always so good but I had to get more shrimp instead of just the 4 they gave you..
Yes the greeter is rude, but that is how they are to Americans, because they are so confident knowing people will go and spend their hard earned money in their place..
The reason why they want only cash is because they send money home, and they don’t wanna give up any kind of percentage to a card company..
They would make more money if they had someone who they want to deliver

If your in the Southside of RDG you should eat at Chang’s on South 4th Street. It’s the best Chinese food in Berks County for sure.

i wish i could rate it 0 stars. The employees don’t understand a lick of english therefore making communication difficult. Not only do they nof understand english but they are also blatantly rude. The food is nasty and old. Literal rats in the “restaurant”.

First you’re greeted by a rude cashier. First red flag. .
We’re in 2024 and these people still working with cash only? Then as if that inconvenience isn’t enough, they don’t even have an ATM in the restaurant for you to use. Not to mention the fact that they don’t deliver nor do they work with Uber eats, Door Dash or any other delivery service. An order of $50 and not a single free drink like I’m accustomed to with these restaurants.
This business only cares about profit not a care in the world for their customers and their lack of service shows it. Makes me scared to think what goes on in that kitchen with food prep or once business is closed. Like what goes on with leftover food, storage, etc

Very disappointed. I have been going to Chans for years and the food has ALWAYS been fresh and good… But the past few times the food has been cold in the middle, not fresh and this time it gave me terrible stomach pain. I will not go back. What changed?
