California burrito was delicious. If I could have ordered more food then I would have but one can only eat so much before it starts to hurt. Definitely a spot I would come back to!

Chanos is your run of the mill old school Mexican food place. The difference with Chanos is that between Thur and Sun they offer hand made corn tortillas. That is huge. Anything made with the hand made tortillas is another level. I had the fish tacos and was very happy

Just went by the restaurant to pick up an order of taquitos. The waitress acted like I was from another planet didn’t understand what I was saying, which made me felt very uncomfortable. And then my order was just plain fried tortillas with guacamole, instead of the regular order of taquitos with shredded lettuce and cheese. So I paid a full price for a half of what I got. Last time I went there, I found hair in my food. I don’t know. I’m starting to wonder about this place. I’ve been going for years, but I think I’m gonna have to find another place to go.

First time here, came for breakfast. I’d go back, but hardly. Walked in, was empty, took 2 minutes for someone to acknowledge me and say good morning or how I can be helped. Prices are doable. Ordered the chilaquiles with egg. Came fast enough, but upon eating, I noticed why. First, I was missing the salad that is shown in online pictures. Hardly given any chips to dip w my beans. Eggs were the best thing on the plate and their salsas are good too. Chilaquiles themselves were a big air ball(miss). Tortillas were from a bag and sauce was from a can. Barely warm and very noticeable they were only tossed together for about 2 minutes before being served as sauce wasnt embedded into the tortilla CHIPS, instead sliding off them as I ate. Had to scoop them with my plastic fork because too hard for fork to go through them (another sign weren’t authentic or cooked long enough). Atmosphere is nice, though. Cashier was friendly once acknowledged. I’d say the food here is on par with Taco Bell but with more authentic offerings.

Bought a taco plate to go.
The taco was ugly & awful.
I ordered guacamole and they gave me avocado sauce. Bleh.
I started eating at this location in 2002. It was so so delicious, and supported their business throughout our school district. As time has gone by, their food quality has gone down. You can’t screw up a burrito much, but certainly can a taco. Today was my last time.

Not too good today. Chile Verde burrito had verry little meat and tasted sweet. The tlayuda was awful. Cold, stale and the meat didn’t seem fresh. Everything was cold.

I visited Chanos for the very first time and it was good. Out front they were making tortillas from scratch. I got the lunch special which included two items (i chose tacos, rice, beans and a drink). It was pretty filling. The tacos are individually $2.79 but are a good size compared to other places that are less than that. I will probably return again.

Back in 80s, I used to come to chanos in Monterey Park but they closed. I had no idea they sprung backup until a school fund raising event and it was delicious. I came back to try the actual place itself on the weekend and even better. Asada is cooked great and good portions. Can’t wait to come back to try more
