This is not a restaurant, it is a ghost kitchen serving Caribbean/Trini entrees. You place your order for the weekend, pull up and it’s brought out to you. I ordered stew chicken, curry chicken and the build your own doubles. The flavors were good, but not what I am used to as far as style. Her meals were prepared with boneless breast meat, I prefer bone in, dark meat chicken. For you lovers of chicken breast, this would be for you. The doubles were flavorful and texturally pleasing. The roti was executed perfectly and Anisa was so pleasant and I can tell she’s passionate about her craft. I would encourage all to try for yourselves when you get the chance.

I have not been to Trinidad, but have enjoyed its food in NYC and elsewhere, and Channa really seems to deliver on the authenticity! There is great care put into the preparation and packaging of all the various dishes, and the quality of ingredients is evident in the vibrant flavors. And it’s such a pleasure to interact with them on each order… they put a lot of love into their operation!

Oh my goodness this was SO yummy!!! I can’t wait to order again and tell friends about Channa Kitchen. My mom and sister are in town week after next and we’ll absolutely be ordering some takeout ahead of time 🙂

The Stew Fish has such a lovely tomato sauce with lots of lovely, subtle notes that make it SO satisfying. Curry chicken was top notch. I absolutely loved the roti – thank you so much for the extra pumpkin and channa! Both were super yummy but I was also blown away by the flavor in the bhaj and how yummy and satisfying the dhal was.

And the extra doubles you put in – I’m SO glad!! I can’t imagine ordering again without including these. All the toppings added more texture and dynamic flavor – and that spicy sauce was amazing!! Maybe some scotch bonnet? Regardless, amazing. The pholourie was so yummy too with the sweet chutney.

And somehow we’re lucky enough to have some leftovers so I’ll be eating like a king this week with that. Thanks again Anisa – so glad you took the chance on your phenomenal cooking and flavor skills. I look forward to letting my circles know Channa Kitchen is a must-have in the regular takeout rotation 🙂

Channa Kitchen is such a treat to find at the farmers markets! The doubles are incredible, soft golden bara filled with spiced channa (curried chickpeas) topped with the perfect balance of pepper and chutney. Ask for heavy peppa if you like it spicy! It’s the kind of food that warms you from the inside out! A real Trini comfort food.

The owners are always so friendly and full of positive energy. You can tell they love sharing Trinidadian culture and building community through their food and conversations. I always look forward to their weekly specials, which bring even more delicious Guyanese and Trini comfort foods to the table.

Every visit feels like catching up with old friends. real nice vibes and real good food!

I have ordered twice now and both experiences were exceptionally wonderful. I’m so thrilled to find Trinidadian food right in Uptown Minneapolis. Perfect spice, not too salty and the roti is DIVINE-perfect pull-not gluey, layered and delicious. I look forward to ordering again! Anisa the chef was so attentive and genuine you can tell this food is made with love and care. Highly recommend!

Our takeout from Channa Kitchen was incredible! Wonderful communication from the kitchen to time our pickup. The tilapia curry, doubles, and veggie talkaris were so flavorful and perfectly cooked. They are operating out of ghost kitchen so you have to pre-order and pick up. Can’t wait to go back!

After 5 years as a Caribbean-American in MN I’m SO glad I found Channa Kitchen. The food is authentic, delicious, and reminds of what I grew up with. Truly haven’t had anything I haven’t liked as yet and doubt I will. Keep an eye on their instagram for specials!! Anisa’s pepperpot for Christmas time nearly brought tears to my eyes with how much it reminded me of home.

Tried Channa Kitchen for the first time at the NE Winter Market in April, and WOW—I’m still thinking about that curry chicken roti. The flavor was perfect: warm, just the right amount of spice, and packed with rich, aromatic curry goodness. The roti was soft and chewy, wrapped around a super generous portion that totally filled me up and made my whole day. You can taste the love and skill in this food. Highly recommend!

I’ve been searching for authentic Trinidian food. Seriously carving it so bad and by chance I came across Channa’s Kitchen. Absolutely amazing food! Reminded me of my childhood and really made me miss my mommy (in a good way of course). It’s never been easy to find authentic Trinidian food here, as there was only one Harry Singh’s which is now closed. I’m so happy for Channa’s Kitchen, not just the food but the people (Anisa is amazing) So you want to taste real authentic Trinidian food? Then get online go to Channa’s Kitchen and place that order. You won’t be disappointed.

One day I decided to check out google maps and see if there was any Trinidad restaurants out there besides Harry Singh. (I never know when Harry is open anymore).

Found this hidden gem, read all the reviews (by the way, it’s all 5 stars). Checked out the website and I was impressed with what channa kitchen had on their menu. The polourie, aloo pies, good luck finding those dishes anywhere else in Minneapolis.

Today (Sunday 18th August 2024), finally placed an order for stew chicken, curry chicken, bake n shrimp (which was the special of the weekend), polourie and aloo pies. I’m currently in a food coma as I type out this review for Anisa’s channa kitchen. Not only is the food super authentic, the owner Anisa is very polite, nice, just a bundle of joy.
As a fellow Trinidadian being able to talk my natural dialect with another Trini was such a joy. She really is awesome, and well the food, just GREAT! AUTHENTIC!! Eating Anisa food took me back to Trinidad in so many ways. Get yourself some of Anisa’s Trini cuisine, you’ll NOT be disappointed.
