Super cute vintage Japanese diner! Loved the unique sodas and the delicious food. Literally everything we ordered was perfect. We got beef curry, chicken rice bowl and the shrimp okonomiyki (basically a vegetable pancake on noodles). Everything is pretty much customizable with the sauces and bases. So glad we chose this place and will absolutely be back!

I’m in emphatic agreement with every 5 star sentiment and observation here. I was most surprised by the tender beef rice bowl. It was not dry, but very flavorful, tender and plentiful. 3 entrès (2 rice bowl, 1 okonomiyaki) and one side( 1 extra pork belly), could feed 4 grown adults. Definitley will be back.

The vibe at Chanko was effortlessly cool but still a cozy and welcoming diner! I was blown away at the portion sizes and the flavors. The Japanese Curry was warm, spicy, and layered well over the Chicken Katsu and Pork Belly Okonomiyaki – both of which were beyond incredible.

By far one of our favorite restaurants in the area. We lived in Japan for a few years and this food really holds up! The chicken (tonkatsu style) curry is my favorite. My husband enjoyed the beef rice bowl. Never disappoints.

My boyfriend took me here and he got the pork belly and rice and I got the katsu chicken with veggie curry and it was really good. We tried a couple of their drinks and enjoyed them and ordered some to go. The atmosphere and vibe of the place is immaculate 10/10

This place took the all American dinner scene and turn it to an awesome Japanese hub! This place is amazing, the food portions are big, they don’t hold back on flavor, and size, this place is worth every penny and time. Great place to hang out and have lunch, also a great vibe for a large group. They have indoor and outdoor sitting. Take your pick.

I had encountered this place on TikTok, looking for something new to try in Tampa, and when we rolled in, we were in awe of the place. They were super quick on service, and it was such a calm atmosphere after a long drive. If you’re looking for something that’s quick, delicious and easy to order, I highly recommend!!

Such an awesome project! When you first walk up to this place. It looks like a hole in the wall. It’s basically self-service you order on a computer. There are no waiters. The food is amazing. I felt like I was transported to Japan. Excellent drink selection as well. Plenty of sake as well as Japanese soft drinks.
