This place has been on my mind for a while and not for a good reason lol. I wanted to like this place but multiple things threw me off. First off, the 2-3 servers were watching us eat the ENTIRE time lol. It was uncomfortable and comical. After first dish was served, they saw we were eating the biang biang noodles incorrectly by not mixing the sauce in at the bottom so they came to help, explain, and mix. We appreciated it! But after that, they were watching us the entire time lol. We went midday on a Thursday and it wasn’t busy but there were several customers scattered throughout, but we at least always had 1-2 ppl watching us and how we ate. Maybe because we’re not Asian and we were eating it wrong? So uncomfortable lol.
I was excited for the biang biang noodles but it wasn’t for me. Noodles came out a lot thicker than what other posts showed. Flavor was a lot more mild than anticipated. Bf ordered what I believe is the spicy chicken sautee? Flavor was amazing! But we could not get over how there were tiny pieces of chicken bone. So you’d be eating perfectly cooked chicken, smooth, and suddenly a small chunk of bone to mess up your rhythm. Then again, and again. It became too difficult to eat and you couldn’t even detect the bones in the dish until you ate it. We left more than half of it.
The sesame noodles dish was good but again, was not for me. Great serving sizes though! Just sharing my experience. Wish we loved it.

Really amazing spot for authentic Shannxi flavors. The stir-fried hand-pulled noodles with cumin beef were especially good. Food came out fast and the place was chill. Would definitely come back.

Found this very nice restaurant my Ontario Mills on our way back from Redlands. Very well lit and spacious seating area and high ceiling. Food comes in very generous quantity and actually tastes good.

Definitely authentic Chinese food! Hand pull noodles were very good and large portion. Service was fast. Highlight: they didn’t charge tips on the tax! Would definitely come back again.

This place is a real gem. Xi’an style food (and a bit Sichuanese), good portions for the price. We ordered the sweet and sour fish (great), the cold noodles with sesame (excellent), the sweet and sour eggplant (aka yuxiang eggplant, also excellent), and the noodles with cumin lamb (great). Also, good Earl Grey milk tea. Service is Chinese, meaning they wait for you to call them over if you need something and don’t check on the table often. Adapt accordingly. If Chang’an Kitchen were closer to me, I’d come here frequently!

We wanted to try this location because it has different items on the menu than the one in Chino hills. The beef noodle soup with chili oil and the beef burger were really good. Especially when you dip the burger in the soup like a French dip. So good!
The mapo tofu at the Chino hills location, we think it’s better. I think because the beef brisket adds more flavor to the mapo tofu. The spicy fish on the other hand is missing something. We probably wouldn’t order it again. But this was a great meal.

Authentic chinese food. Their 水煮鱼, 水煮牛, Shrimp Fried Rice, Lao Gan Ma Fried Rice, Stir Fried Noodles with Tripe, Big Chicken Plate Noodles, Cumin Lamb Buns, Beef Buns, Mapo Tofu with Beef are all good, etc…All the photos attached to this review is good.
冰粉 is also good, kinda like a cold jelly dessert.
Prices are affordable with large portion sizes.
Been coming here at least once every 2 weeks.

The establishment is tucked away behind a corner right next to Arizona Leather. A lot of seating for large parties. Upkeep of bathroom wasn’t too great. The restaurant itself is clean. Service was great and staff is very friendly. I ordered menu item N17. The first taste of the broth was quite good. The beef was very tender and they don’t skimp on it. But after a few more bites, the soup’s flavor became boring. But that’s just me. The Stir Fried Pork Belly was very good. The Ma Po Tofu dish was also good. The Bean Sprout Salad was quite enjoyable. Everyone enjoyed the food. Large portions for the a la carte items so make sure you’re with hungry friends. I would like to try the other menu items next time I’m in the area. I would recommend this place.

Changan Kitchen stands out as one of the best spots for authentic Chinese cuisine in the area. The restaurant offers a chill and welcoming dining environment, with adorable pet figurines hanging on the walls, a textured brick-wall design, and classic-style lighting that adds a warm, traditional touch.
The menu features a wide variety of dishes, particularly from Northwest China, as Xi’an is renowned for its flour-based foods like Chinese burgers, Liang Pi (cold noodles), and hand-pulled noodles. They also offer familiar favorites like fried rice, dumplings, and chow mein, ensuring there’s something for everyone.
I tried the Chinese Burger with Stewed Pork, and it was exceptional. The crispy-yet-soft bun paired beautifully with the tender, juicy pork filling, which reminded me of carnitas—a must-try dish! Another standout was the Fried Pao Mo Soup with House Special Beef, a unique and flavorful dish combining beef braised in soy sauce and spicy seasonings with the signature bread pieces of Pao Mo. However, the spice level might be a bit intense for those with a lower tolerance.
The service was friendly, and the food was prepared quickly, making it a convenient yet satisfying dining experience. With its large menu and inviting atmosphere, Changan Kitchen is an ideal spot for family reunions or big gatherings where you can explore more elaborate and shareable dishes. Definitely worth a visit for a taste of authentic Xi’an cuisine!
