When I first moved to North Carolina my family ordered Chang Thai as a welcome meal and to celebrate my birthday since they know I love Thai food. The tofu pad Thai was the best I found in the area and in Winston Salem as well in almost 6 years. I dined there or got take out at least 15 or 20 times will living there and would go out of my way for it after moving out of Clemmons. There was never a disappointing dish and the service was always kind. Great for catching up with friends or a date night.

Both Thai food and sushi on menu. Food is better than average.
Our waitress made some errors and didn’t seem too thrilled about being alive. Maybe she was having a bad night.
The atmosphere was good, and the place was nicely decorated.

Nice Thai/Japanese restaurant. Staff was friendly and prompt with their service. Food was fresh and served quickly. Calamari appetizer was my wife’s favorite. Huge portion as well as the rest of our dinner. Tom Som salad was great and the Shrimp Pad Thai was as well. We had two sushi rolls as well. We had the Mango with sticky rice for dessert. Overall great experience for a first time visit. A good recommendation for Thai and Japanese restaurant.

It’s hard to find really good Asian food these days. Chang Thai has it. We got 3 different chicken dishes and all were great. White meat chicken and real veggies in each dish. I’ll eat here every time in the area.

Gotta say, for ordering takeout from a Thai/Sushi combo restaurant, I was pleasantly surprised!
It hasn’t been my experience that restaurants that do an Asian fusion tend to do any particular one thing well because their focus becomes broad. Not the case here though. I ordered three different sushi rolls, lobster pot, steak and mango sticky rice for dessert.
The sushi was very good!
While the lobster and steak don’t strike me as Thai-centric, they were tasty given the price point and offerings.
I also enjoyed that my mango sticky rice sealed the sweet sauce in a separate container for me to pour on in my convenience instead of mucking up the container’s take-out bag. Fortunately the sweetness was already infused into the sticky rice so it was a nice have but not necessary.

I enjoyed the decor and atmosphere as well as the service, but the crab package appetizer tasted a bit like it was frozen and then reheated. The green curry had good flavor but I was surprised it had zucchini in it and I was a bit disappointed as I really like eggplant and that’s part of why I order green curry. The BBQ eel temaki was very tasty. I would go back I just might order other items.

I got the spicy crab roll which I recommend and the crispy duck with tamarind sauce which I probably wouldn’t order again despite my enjoyment of duck because of the gristle and bone I found in several bites. They have very good portions for the prices and do offer to-go boxes and if I’m in the area again I wouldn’t mind going back as several things on the menu caught my eye.

Best Chicken Satay, Sushi, and Unagi Don. The lady who served us was the best waitress I’ve ever had at any establishment, she was very quick, never let our drinks get empty, made sure everything came out well and was very friendly. The staff there is very kind and friendly to everyone who comes in, be it to sit and eat or grab n go orders. I would highly recommend this restaurant to anyone, the establishment is very clean and its decor is beautiful.

Curiously each of the several times I’ve purchased from Chang thai, there was an aura of unspoken discomfort. Tonight was down right awkward in addition to the obvious discomfort. While picking up my order , The hostess made a motion as if to to hand me my package but when I reached for it she put it back and turned her back to me stepping away indicating I could get it myself. I don’t look for ill treatment so did not realize immediately that’s what was occurring. I picked up the package from the counter myself an exited with my $50 plus food. Then it hit me. I got the message. There was no thank you for the order. It felt like the back door and I am old enough to remember . I no longer shop at CVS for the same reason.
