Ordered Chanello’s Pizza for the first time tonight through their website. Delivery was on time, the website was easy to order from, but unfortunately we did not get what we ordered (or at least from what we saw).
The photo below is our pizza: tomato sauce, banana peppers, spinach, mushrooms, and chicken.
What we ordered was specifically white sauce, see attached receipt. When I called to ask if we should return the pizza and if it could be fixed, they told us that red sauce and white sauce was checked off, so they gave us both. Unfortunately, there was zero white sauce on this. The issue we have specifically is tomato sauce is a bit harsher for me as a diabetic, and white sauce doesn’t usually spike my glucose. Regardless, it was just not a tasty pizza with that sauce.
I don’t think I would return mainly based on the concern of our family willing to drive back and return an uneaten pizza for one that was the correct one, and then being told we ordered incorrectly. And if we did order incorrectly, then the concern is really their website’s ease of use. Regardless, not the best overall experience across various aspects.

Compared to the others the food was sub par. The cheesy bread looked like there was half the cheese compared to the many of store I’ve had before. Pretty much like a crust with a dusting off cheese. The pizza is the same. No desire to make good food or keep a great pizza place alive in the Hampton roads area. The workers were sitting at a table on their phones when we arrive for pickup. The bill was around $20 for a big cheesy deal. Gave them a $50 to pay and asked if I needed change?! Math and if you made the pizza that good you would deserve a tip. After seeing what I got and how it was made it should’ve been returned.

Placed an order through grub hub for this location…. Ordered two Philly cheesesteaks but my boyfriend is allergic to mushrooms , when ordering the app doesn’t give you an option to remove anything or add anything …. (See video attached) Decided to call the store…… the guy that answered the phone I asked him if they could remove the mushrooms from my subs he said that should be fine no problem let me confirm with the manager …… said manager said no they don’t take changes to a third party order ??? Oh okay…… let me contact Grubhub …… they contacted the merchant and got the same answer at that point I wanted to cancel my order but nope that wasn’t allowed either. So now I have two subs that I can’t eat all because the manager couldn’t remove mushrooms from my order…. If I could give negative stars I would because what ….. this is the only location I’ve encountered this problem with.

I ordered delivery from them not too long ago and when the pizza arrived, more than half of it had slid off the top of the pizza and into the side of the box. I’ve ordered pizza delivered from a variety of places and that was a first for me. It was also a last, as I will not be ordering from them again.
If you want great pizza, try Bird Girl in Hilton or Anna’s, also in Hilton.

Did not give us what we paid for TWICE. I ordered wings and tenders along with a sub sandwich for my family. I selected garlic parm as my sauce selection for my wings, but instead recieved seasoning on my wings. Perhaps I would have let that slide as an error, but upon checking the rest of our food noticed the “chicken tenders” looked like 2in microwaveable chicken nuggets. $9 for some microwavable chicken nuggets, and $15 for wings without sauce but seasoning?!? This was very shady business practices and taking advantage of customers. But after reading other reviews I now see over the last year this place has really gone down hill and this is a regular problem with this location.

Something told me to go to another restaurant, but I didn’t listen to my gut. I order a pizza and Italian sub. My sub was awful. I wasn’t given a receipt when I made my purchase only my change. Very poor customer service. I called the next day which they don’t open until 4pm. Finally when they open I was able to speak with someone I asked for the manager. It was a young male he stated that he was the assisant manager. I explained that I purchased a sub the day before in the evening and it was awful. I also saved the sub. Remind you I payed almost $15. He placed me on hold and came back to the phone and said “I can give you $5 off your next purchase”. At that point I asked for a refund he told me that I would have to call the corporate office for a refund. I asked was that the policy and that I wanted to see the policy that states that. He told me he didn’t have the handbook. I said to him so you would rather me call corporate rather than remake my food or refund me. I also reminded him he didn’t give me a receipt when I paid for my food. He found the receipt so I had to drive back to chanellos to get my receipt for proof for when I do call corporate. On my way to the store the assistant manager called my phone and asked how much of the sub did I eat. If I didn’t eat more than half they could remake it. At the time I was half way to the store and didn’t bring the sub because I wanted the receipt. He wasn’t a bad person he was just very young and needs more training on how to deal with an unsatisfied customer. I haven’t eaten from chanellos in years, but this will be my last time making a purchase from this store. I didn’t have an issue with the pizza, but this is not a place to get a sub from!

Terrible experience. Do not order anything from here. Manager was very unprofessional. My girlfriend ordered a few Philly cheesesteaks online and there was no option to take off mushrooms online..so she called up there and asked if they could take the mushrooms off because I am allergic and they refused!! And sent them anyways loaded up with mushroom. Absolutely not acceptable, will never be ordering from here again.

The food tasted horrible. Philly cheesesteak meat was so hard you couldn’t chew it. Cheesebread has same nasty flavor. I live close to this store and order about 10 times a year. Probably never again. It was terrible. Order #25 on 2/20/25

Me and my husband ordered from this chanellos a couple days ago for the first and the LAST time. We ordered two pizzas and cinnamon knots for delivery, including tip it was $42. Around 2:25am we got a call from the delivery driver saying our food was delivered on our porch. We immediately went and checked both our porches and there was no food. We tried calling the driver back several times not even 5 minutes later and we even tried calling the store and no one answered. We also tried tracking the delivery but the GPS on the driver was “turned off”. We never got our food that night. My husband left a bad review that night just saying we wasted $42 not to get any food. The owner responded to his review and told him to email him so he can make it right. So he emailed him the next day, twice and we waited several days for a response with no luck. The next day after not getting our food we decided to try and just call the store so we could hopefully just get our food and the guy on the phone just kept telling us that “our food was delivered” and we probably had “a food bandit in our neighborhood”. We were the only people awake in our neighborhood and we were waiting by the door for the pizza because we were really hungry. No car even drove down our street. We tried telling the guy on the phone this and he just kept repeating that our food was delivered. He wouldn’t even believe us. We just told him that we wanted our food and he said that he can’t just “send free food out to people”. But it wasn’t free, we paid for food and we never got it. Finally he just offered to give us corporates number and we called and left a voice mail there but we still haven’t heard anything from them either. Needless to say, this was the worst delivery experience I’ve ever had to deal with. We just want our money back, we’re not in the financial situation to be spending money on food that we never got to see. Highly disappointed.
