Classic, stylish, and absolutely delicious! I’ve enjoyed every dish at Chandler. I even visited twice in one day—for lunch and dinner—just to savor one of the most delicious risottos I’ve ever had, along with the crab cake. Everything tasted fresh and perfectly seasoned. The remoulade sauce for the crab cake was incredible, with fresh ingredients that add just the right touch of zest.

We went for a quick dinner before night skiing. We were sat in the cellar room and ambiance was perfect. Daniel was our experienced server and he gave comfortable, knowledgeable service. We had Tuna Roll, Crab Cake, Wellfleet Oysters, Steak Tartare and 3 filets. Everything was very tasty. The bar area seemed very cozy, but I can see how the seating could appear tight, and right by the door would be hard to enjoy. This place is upscale, great food and service, without pretense, and knowing downtown Petoskey is limited with space. Come seeking an after ski vibe, looking for cozy and good food/service and you will be happy.

Our server Kim was absolutely divine and perfectly attentive. The crab cakes were delicious. The Duck was so delicate yet cooked to perfection. The chicken was autumn at its best and delicious.
1st time dining here and the next time we’re in Petoskey, we will definitely be back.

A recent dinner at Chandler’s in Petoskey, MI was nothing short of exceptional—a true highlight in northern Michigan’s dining scene. From the moment you step into Chandler’s, the cozy, intimate atmosphere immediately sets the stage for a memorable meal, whether you’re nestled in the main dining room, the wine cellar surrounded by thousands of bottles, or enjoying the charming outdoor patio.

We began our evening with the tartar and the Farmer’s Appetizer Board, both of which were a testament to the kitchen’s attention to detail and commitment to local, fresh ingredients. The tartar was perfectly seasoned and melt-in-your-mouth tender, while the Farmer’s Board was a delightful assortment of artisanal cheeses, cured meats, and house-made accompaniments—easily one of the best charcuterie experiences we’ve had in the region.

For the main course, the salmon was a standout. Expertly prepared, it arrived perfectly cooked—moist, flaky, and flavorful, with a subtle crispness to the skin. The accompanying vegetables were fresh and thoughtfully seasoned, complementing the fish without overpowering it. It’s clear why Chandler’s is so highly regarded for its seafood and creative daily special.

Pairing our meal with a glass of Zinfandel from Chandler’s extensive and well-curated wine list elevated the experience even further. The wine cellar is a true gem, offering selections that rival those of much larger cities, and the staff are knowledgeable, ready to recommend the perfect pairing for any dish.

Service throughout the evening was warm, attentive, and professional, striking the perfect balance between friendliness and efficiency. Even on a busy night, we never felt rushed, and every request was met with a smile.

Chandler’s consistently delivers on all fronts: atmosphere, service, and—most importantly—food. Whether you’re a local or just passing through Petoskey, this is a must-visit destination for anyone who appreciates fine dining in a relaxed, welcoming setting. We left already planning our next visit, eager to explore more of the menu and enjoy another glass from that remarkable wine cellar. Five stars, without hesitation.

This tucked away gem had something for everyone in my extended family, ranging from classic to bar food to Asian staples. We stopped by on a whim to grab lunch and sit on the hidden patio before a family event. The staff was very attentive and cordial, and my little sister demolished a full burger.

Highly recommend for a special night out. Ask for seating in the wine cellar for later in the evening. This is a unique, luxury experience. My husband and I enjoyed celebrating our 33rd year dating Anniversary here. The atmosphere, service and food were all outstanding. We felt very special for our special occasion!

Solid spot. Variety of menu options reeled us in. California Roll (not pictured) was a great opener to a delicious Caesar and Smash Burger. Patio seat was great; felt like a little foreign alley, sandwiched between their indoor restaurant and a really cool General Store that is a must visit. Riley, our server, was a joy and took great care of us.
