Most exquisite experience. Ambiance is unique – sophisticated yet understated. Prompt, friendly service from all bartenders who work seamlessly together. Creative delicious Gin cocktail suggested by Cole. Interesting people watching. Music in the background was Latin American balads from the 1950’s. We loved everything about the evening. Wished I lived closer. ❤️

The bar at the Four Seasons at The Surf Club is a true gem, where sophistication meets the rich history of the venue. Expert bartenders craft exquisite cocktails that have become favorites among members and guests alike. Notable options include the refreshing mojito and the classic martini, both prepared with precision and attention to detail. The extensive wine and champagne list features some of the most valuable selections, ideal for celebrating special occasions or simply enjoying a memorable evening.

The staff at the bar exemplifies elegance and professionalism, donning immaculate uniforms and wearing gloves at all times, ensuring that every detail reflects the club’s commitment to excellence. The decor pays homage to the property’s storied past, with tasteful furnishings and artwork that evoke the glamour of its golden age. Additionally, the bar occupies what was once a grand ballroom, adding to the captivating atmosphere that invites guests to unwind and savor the moment.

During my time there, Kyle, one of the bartenders, shared many fascinating insights about the history of the Surf Club. His pride in belonging to the Four Seasons was evident in his comments, showcasing a deep appreciation for the legacy of the place. People like him highlight the effectiveness of the organization’s selection process, as it is clear that the staff embodies the values and standards that the Four Seasons represents.

Beyond the bar, the Four Seasons at The Surf Club boasts a rich history that dates back to its establishment in 1930. Originally a playground for elite socialites, the clubhouse hosted extravagant events attended by luminaries like Winston Churchill, Elizabeth Taylor, and Frank Sinatra. The legendary “Arctic Gala,” featuring ice sculptures and opulent celebrations, remains a captivating part of the club’s folklore.

The property has maintained its exclusive atmosphere, with limited membership ensuring an intimate experience. It features only 77 guest rooms, alongside 30 hotel residences and 121 privately owned condos, allowing for a serene environment even when fully occupied.

In 2014, the property transitioned to Four Seasons, marking a new chapter while preserving its historic charm. Architect Russell T. Pancoast designed the original structure, and his vision has been honored in the renovations, blending classic elegance with modern luxury.

The Surf Club also offers exclusive promotions and events, celebrating its heritage while providing members and guests with unique experiences. The combination of a storied past, impeccable service, and a stunning setting makes the Four Seasons at The Surf Club a remarkable destination where history and luxury meet.

My wife and I travel to the four seasons Surfside here in Miami, at least three times a year and always enjoy our stay on this beautiful exquisite property. And we usually have fun at the restaurants as well. But tonight, thanks to manager Carlo and some lady manager. I’ve never seen before, we did not have a great time. we are used to just letting loose and relaxing at the champagne bar. But these two were like nosy, substitute teachers that were very eager to reprimand patents of the bar. We were just trying to enjoy a drink when the lady manager, who I do not have a name for, I think she’s a new hire, she is short with brown hair, anyway this lady manager snuck up behind us while we were enjoying our champagne flutes and said that we were cut off from drinking because of our behavior. My wife and I were stunned. It was our first, and most likely only, drink of the night. How was this lady accusing us of being drunk? It all felt very much so like a jail cell. Which we have never experienced before at the four seasons resorts. Which we are huge fans of usually. this will definitely make us think twice about going to any four seasons resort. Manager Carlo was also somewhat backing her up as she was on her trip. I hope both of these people are removed so I can enjoy my four seasons experiences.

We stopped by the Champagne Bar at The Surf Club without a reservation on a Thursday evening , and from the moment we stepped in, the atmosphere was stunning. The space feels like a tropical oasis meets classical luxury, with beautiful decor, an impressive chandelier, and a level of elegance that immediately sets the tone for the experience.

The Experience: The service was excellent, and the overall vibe was refined yet relaxed. However, we did find it a bit odd that while most guests at the bar were served three complimentary hors d’oeuvres (olives, nuts, and crackers), we only received two out of the three. A small detail, but noticeable.

The Cocktails: The cocktails were beautifully presented and featured high-quality ingredients, but the flavors didn’t quite live up to expectations. The combinations seemed to mellow each other out rather than enhance the key elements.

• CUCUMBER ($25) – Lychee, El Tesoro Reposado, Cucumber, Mancino Secco, Shishito Cordial, Hagave Spiced Nectar
• A refreshing, well-balanced drink, but nothing particularly standout.
• PINEAPPLE ($27) – Milagro Cristalino, Banana, Grand Marnier Cuvee Alexander, Pineapple, Louisiana Crunch Cake
• Expected something more bold and tropical, but the flavors didn’t pop as much as anticipated.
• PANDAN ($27) – Patron Reposado, House Pandan Coconut Liqueur, Absinthe
• Definitely the most interesting of the three, with a unique pandan-coconut profile.

The drinks were enjoyable, but at this price point, you expect more depth and complexity in flavor. Each cocktail is crafted with premium ingredients, but the execution didn’t quite highlight them as well as it could have.

Final Thoughts

Overall, a fantastic setting with great service and an upscale ambiance, but be prepared to pay a premium for your drinks. After tax and the automatic 20% gratuity, you’re looking at $33 per cocktail. Would I return? Yes, but next time, I’d be more selective with my drink choice. 4/5 stars.
