Son and I were in the mood for arepas and so when we spotted Chamos, we had to stop.

Space is small, just a few tables. We were able to grab a table surrounded by Venezuelan families who were clearly happy to ge getting a taste of home.

We had the two arepa plate, chicken and pork, and shared a beef empanada. The arepas are enough for two people to share. Both were delicious. Chicken was tender and juicy on its own. The accompanying sauces on both were tangy. The empanada was stuffed with beef and it was bursting in flavor.

Service was fine, nothing extraordinary. Table could have used a good wipe down if I’m honest, as it felt a bit sticky.

This is a good place for a taste of Venezuela.

This is authentic Venezuelan street food and it rocks! super reasonably priced, delicious, and not as heavy as you would think based on the photos. The interior is very charming and reminds me of my trips to south america. We had the tapitas with grilled chicken in one and smoked pork shoulder on the other and both were fabulous. We just ordered the one plate which was $15 and we were stuffed by the end of it.

Needed to come down here for some computer parts and decided to try out a local restaurant. Saw the reviews were solid and the menu item pictures look really tasty!

I decided to try the salchiqueso with steak and it was amazing! Some restaurants skimp out of the meat but I was surprised by how much was in it. Very good quality and overall tastes great!

When the order was done and I was about to head out, the lady at the counter offered me a free frescolatia which I’ve never heard of before. Reminds me of a strawberry soda.

Great food, great service, and I always love the quality of these little ma/pa places! Definitely recommend trying this place out when you get the chance!

I love Venezuelan food, I was excited to try this place.

I’m sorry to say with what we ordered; empanadas they were terrible the bread was so dense and hard I broke the fork; my knife wouldn’t cut through it.
They didn’t have certain things available on the menu. The sodas were warm; they needed a cup of ice.
***Update to the restaurants reply***
I have had empanadas before, from other Venezuelan Restaurants and food trucks, these were by far the densest I have ever had and they had a lingering taste that stayed with you, and not a pleasant taste, more metalic. Yes, you did tell me it was warm after we ordered and were waiting for our food not when we ordered.

I don’t usually review restaurants, but this meal blew me away. I got the patacones with shredded beef and it was absolutely amazing. I will definitely be coming again and I recommend it to anyone that enjoys good food! The service was great too!

The Patacones were excellent! Best fried plantains I’ve had since being in Central America years ago. The meat was also a highlight. I will definitely be coming back for the Patacones and to try out the other menu items as well. Highly recommend!

If there is a place that serves good Venezuelan food I quickly become a loyal customer.
The first time I had chamos when they barely opened this location was stellar. I was so impressed I decided to come back often.

Well I’ve had it 5 more times since and what I order are empanadas and pastelitos.
The pastelitos are great!
But the empanadas have had various issues.
Once I got the wrong kind
Another time the filling of shredded beef was so dry you could tell it was old
And then this time I received an over fried one where the oil seeped inside the filling of the empanada and the color of it showed they are using old oil.

Please do better. This always happens. New place opens up offers great food.. and then slowly declines as they start cutting corners
