Not a bad experience but not a great one. I didn’t have beer- just ate dinner. It was on the way back to my hotel. It was a food truck situation. I ordered the veggie sandwich and it was $17. No sides, no bells and whistles. The food was fine, but lacked flavor. The bathrooms were the best part of the experience – very cool stickers on the mirrors.

Chalkboard Kitchen operates out of a food truck behind Anarchy Brewing. We eat at Chalkboard a lot, as their food is consistently great. They have a great selection of vegetarian options including an eggplant banh mi which is bangin. Their salads and apps are great too.
Anarchy is a great casual spot to hang, grab a beer while you wait for your food, but be prepared for a wait for your food to arrive. Their staff is friendly, but more often than not they seem to be understaffed and wait times are long – often over an hour. When we came here last, we stood in line to order while they took 3 phone orders, one after the other, then proceeded to call someone back who had tried to place a phone order. To enhance the service my suggestion would be to hire another cook, and/or prioritize in-person orders (maybe even stop taking phone orders if you’re backed up to avoid bad customer experience and super long wait times).

If I could marry a chicken sandwich, this is the one I’d pledge my life to. If I was already married to a chicken sandwich, I’d dump that one to go fool around with the Chalkboard Kitchen Chicken Sandwich. This is the chicken sandwich you build a home with, raise kids with, enjoy retirement with, and spend every day infatuated with because it never gets old.
I don’t know what kind of witchcraft they’re wielding in that food truck but when I tell you this is one of the best meals I’ve ever had in my life, I mean it. Trust me. The people are lovely and the food is amazing. Just go get yourself a sandwich and love your life.

Tbh this is some of the best food in Durango. Also love the quiet outside vibe behind the brewery. As someone who lives in DGO, it’s nice to know there’s quality home cooked food with local ingredients (that’s consistently delicious) right around the corner. And the owners are super cool people. My wife is celiac and they did a great job catering to her. Note if you’re very sensitive it is a single fryer, but they can even do the fried chicken gluten free. They have a bunch of options on their gf menu and it has celiac specific items.
We ate the food too fast to take pictures but would absolutely recommend.

First things first, the food truck is behind the brewery, so you will actually be eating at the brewery or go around back to find the trailer. The food was great (my son said it was one of the best chicken sandwiches he’s ever had and that’s a lot!) and they bring the meal to you. Very friendly. The brewery had a bunch of dogs hanging out, so that’s a perk if you are into dogs but be warned if you aren’t. Overall I would recommend it.

The only reason I can’t say that this is my favorite chicken sandwich in town is that it is my favorite chicken sandwich period. Some might argue with that, but what I know for a fact is that nobody can argue that this is at least the best within a pretty large radius. People running the truck are always friendly.
