The flavors are incredibly rich and not bland or overly watery, unlike other Thai restaurants we’ve tried. The spiciness is perfectly balanced, not overpowering, which is a must when it comes to Thai food. We usually do 3 stars for spiciness level.
The portion sizes are also perfect, and the prices are just right especially in Seattle. The restaurant has a calm and relaxing atmosphere, making it an ideal spot for date nights, casual dinners, or any other occasion you can imagine. The ambiance is clean and pleasant, and the background music is great.
The servers are very attentive and friendly throughout our many visits. Throughout the times we’ve visited, there’s plenty of street parking as well, and the neighborhood is quiet. Not only that, but it’s near I-5 and Lake City Way too.
Highly recommend to check them out if you’re ever around the area!
The staff is wonderful and we will 12/10 be back again!
And don’t forget to get that crispy banana and coconut ice cream to go!
CHAIYO has an extensive menu, but I’ve only eaten there during lunch time. Their prices are very reasonable for the serving portions. I always get the lunch COMBINATIONS with my favorite – Put Thai and Panang Curry (with pork). I pour the Panang Curry over rice and it is delicious. The portions are so big that I always end up taking the Pud Thai home in a box to eat at dinner time.
When the wait staff ask what level of spiciness that you want, ask for NO spicy or MEDIUM spicy. I love hot and spicy food, but MEDIUM spicy at CHAIYO is the limit of my spicy heat.
The staff is friendly, the place is clean, prices are reasonable, the food is good and served quickly.
The only downside is that their parking lot that they share with a tavern gets filled quickly. There is available street parking in the surrounding neighborhood so don’t despair if the parking lot is full.
The service was great here. I loved the vibe. It was very clean and had a modern vibe with plenty of space. The pricing was also SUPER reasonable for Seattle restaurant prices. The parking is limited, but if you can’t find street parking, there is a lot across the street that is safe to park in during the evening hours if you choose to do so. Also, it is good to note that they stop taking dine-in orders at 8 p.m. even though they close at 9 p.m. Reservations are also highly recommended.
The food was phenomenal. Myself and my wife had the basil fried rice with fried tofu. The fried rice had the perfect blend of Thai flavors and tasted fresh with lots of great flavors and spices. I also had the fried spring rolls which had an amazing taste and were perfectly crisp.
As a vegetarian, I appreciated the abundance of vegetarian offerings. They all looked so delicious, and you could substitute tofu for just about any meat on the menu.
Overall, I highly recommend Chaiyo Thai. They have delicious Thai food that you will love!
