I visited on a Friday around noon. Service was fast and friendly. The young lady taking and bringing out the orders checked on me several times. I ordered the pork egg rolls and Thai wings. I also had the Thai tea. Everything was cooked to order. Hot and fresh. The egg rolls were fried crispy and came with a delicious sweet sauce. The Thai wings were okay. They were fried crispy and came with a sweet chili sauce and sweet sauce on the side. I would’ve preferred mine to be tossed in the sauce. The Thai tea was sweet and had a nice flavor. The price was decent. I paid less than $28. Inside was clean and had a nice lunch crowd. I’d definitely return to try additional items.

Stopped in for dinner on our way home. The place was busy, so service was a bit slow, but understandable. The pad krapao portion was huge and full of flavor, with the Thai basil really coming through.
The papaya salad absolutely delivered on spice (ordered level 5), but the overall flavor was a bit flat and could have used more lime juice and fish sauce.
Overall, a great spot and I would definitely come back.

I love Chai Thai Lao! Honestly, how can you beat this place for $12 to $13 at lunch compared to all the unhealthy fast food options around Baton Rouge? The portions are huge. Two people can easily share, or you can do what I do and bring half home for later. Definitely try the Thai Glass Noodles if you want something amazing. The flavor is incredible and the portion is easily sharable. You are getting fresh cooked, family style meals here instead of wasting money at Chick-fil-A or other fast food spots. The workers are always so pleasant and welcoming, which makes the experience even better. I go weekly at the very least when I am in town, and it never disappoints. Highly recommend!

Might be one of my least favorite Thai restaurants we have ever tried.
Flavors were just off, and Combonation Fried tasted like it was flavored with wet veggies. Meats were bland. A slight hint of basil was present, wish there was more to like.
Wings, just don’t waste your time.
Egg rolls were decent.
Tom Yum soup. Flavorless… just sour.
Papaya salad bland again.
However you will leave with your clothes and hair smelling like cooked oil and garlic.
It’s also so annoying that you stand and order at the counter and guilted into 18% tip for self-service.

Our food was served much quicker than I was expecting it to be and it was delicious! The lady at the counter was very nice and the dining room was was simple and clean.
I also appreciate the vegan/veggie options! The tofu and veggie pad see ew delicious, and my partner loved his dish as well. Probably our favorite Thai place in Louisiana, and we have tried many. Highly recommend this little gem of a place!

Walking in here the place had quite a few people dining inside. As a foodie, I love Tom Kha Soup. This one had the spice on point. The deep fried pork egg rolls were fresh and crispy. The homemade sauce definitely made its point that the rolls were made to marry. I wish I was able to get more in my takeout. Prices for these dishes awesome, but honestly, they are definitely worth more!

This is the go to for Thai food! Stopped here while on our way to Florida. From the moment we walked in, the waitress greeted us with joy! The food was cooked to perfection, bursting with authentic flavors. We ordered the Pad Thai Chicken, Saka Chicken, Red Curry with Shrimp, and Tom Kah Soup. Highly recommend for anyone craving delicious Thai cuisine!

Great place to get quick food that is also very good. I had the Thai fried rice with shrimp and the pork spring rolls. Both were excellent. They ask you if you want your food mild, medium or hot. Gets a little busier during lunch but they are very quick making the food.

My boyfriend heard about this place through a coworker. He loved his pad Thai and was having a hard time finding a place as good as what he misses in Washington. I love a good curry, so I wanted my first dish to be their yellow curry, as a base line before I got more adventurous. It rivaled Thai Kitchen’s yellow curry, of which I’m a big fan. It was SO delicious. Their crab Rangoons are more on the savory side than sweet, so I won’t rank them high on my personal list, but they still were very good! Super crisp and flavorful. I cannot wait to try more of their menu.

I’ve been on the hunt for a great Thai restaurant in the area that is clean and has great food. I’ve tried several and Chai Thai-Lao is the best I have had. We had the vegetable Pad Thai and cauliflower with peanut sauce. We tried the roasted but next time we will try the dried cauliflower. The portions were large enough to share. I can’t wait to go back!
