Our food was inspired by good old fashion home-cooked meals from Saigon, Vietnam; since we love Houston, Texas so much we wanted to fuse our two favorite places together and introduce our own taste. For Chai Asian Fusion to be possible, we believe it takes the love of American and Asian; plus good taste to make our dishes possible. Starting with simple meals like Banh Mi Sandwiches to sweet drinks like Boba Tea, we then add a twist to it so were a real Asian Fusion Restaurant!

The young lady that works at the counter is very very sweet and welcoming, I really like her. The food is so delicious!!!! My grandkids get the Lo Mein noodles and protein and the flavors are amazing, the noodles are al dente and taste so good! I got the Protein dinner plate with Chicken as my protein and it is amazing!!! The flavor is so delicious! The food is made fresh when you order it. The young lady brings you fresh cucumberand lemon infused ice cold water that is so delicious!! I love it so much that I don’t have to order Drink because the water is more than enough, and she keeps the fresh water coming. The Edemame is so delicious, it’s sautéed in soy sauce and garlic and is amazing! They have Smoothies and Boba Teas, the boba on the smoothie is so delicious. The Strawberry Banana Smoothie with Boba is really really good! Try them!!

It’s a cute little restaurant that feels pretty relaxed. My waiter was nice, but not very attentive as they could have been. I enjoyed my Vietnamese coffee, I didn’t really enjoy the taste of the fried spring rolls, and my Garlic Noodles were good, but actually tasted like Alfredo which was a little weird. Overall I don’t think the food is really worth their high prices.

Everything was delicious!. It was my first time trying Asian fusion food. I absolutely loved it. Amarri provided excellent customer service. The atmosphere was welcoming and lively. We ate until we burst. We will definitely be back.

Seriously the food here is really good. What a great hidden gem. Amarri was an amazing server!!! And the hot fresh buns where amazing. We had a lot! the wonton soup large is such a generous portion! The bahn mi sampler was my fave get the fresh buns … The appetizer sampler was also amazing. You can’t go wrong with what you choose .. see pictures.. lol

Came here on their opening night and it was marvelous! The service was incredible. Had the pad thai, and they pulled it off. Wasn’t over fried or over cooked or too oily, it was rather perfect. Haven’t been to a restaurant yet that can pull off a good pad Thai. The cucumber lemon water is seriously so refreshing. Pictured is half a serving of the spring rolls (4 half rolls) and the tofu banh mi. Will happily be coming back in the future. A great atmosphere, quiet and chill but definitely a great spot for friends.

I have been looking to find the best bahn mi in Pasadena and try new Asian fusion food as well. I ordered pickup over the phone, but when I tried to order the shredded chicken bahn mi they said they were out and recommended the grilled chicken one instead, which I agreed to. I requested they add spicy Mayo to the sandwich and the employee said they could do that. When I went to pick it up the employee was sitting in the dining room on her phone. She stayed on her phone for a minute, ignoring me at the counter, before finally getting up to cash me out. She was not too friendly but that’s whatever, I didn’t order takeout for the service. Now to the food. The chicken quality on the grilled chicken bahn mi tastes great but the sandwich is completely missing ALL of the vegetables that come on a bahn mi (and are listed on the online menu). I literally got chicken and Mayo (not spicy like I requested) on the sandwich and nothing else. I also got the brisket bahn mi which is more expensive and lists caramelized onions as a topping. The onions on my sandwich are completely raw. That’s fine, albeit disappointing because I was excited for the caramelized onions, but that’s not how it’s listed on the menu. My fiancé said it is mostly tasteless, which I agree. Also the online menu lists that the brisket bahn mi is served with a side of salad, which I did not receive but I did get an extra cup of what tastes like pho broth which I did not order. But it only had broth and green onions in it so I cannot fathom how that would be a substitute for a side of salad. The Tom Yum soup was fine, personally I didn’t love the flavor but I think that is an issue of my taste preferences as it was quite fragrant. I’m just really upset about my bahn mi being so plain and missing all the flavorful veggies which are the whole reason I love bahn mis! So, since I am disappointed with my incorrect order, I will continue trying new places in my search for the best bahn mi in Pasadena. It’s definitely not here though. Maybe I will try them again for their other dishes that people have spoken highly of in the reviews, but not anytime soon as I now have a bad impression of this place.

I really loved this spot! The fusion flavors were on point and the cashier and staff were so sweet and friendly. They answered all my questions and offered suggestions. The food was very delicious and portions were large, so very reasonable for the cost imo. Also the look of the location was very light and clean, very delightful. I hope to go back and try more!

New owners same name. Today was the first day of the new ownership. And was very very dissatisfied with the taste and quality of the food. The previous owners food was whole lot better tasting. The new ppl need to get it together if they want to make it. For me I won’t be coming back . I will miss this place was very good before….should have taken photos before we all ate. But we didn’t finish and the photos is what we left
