Normally if you ask me what I thought of this bakery I would rave about how amazing it is. I’ve been getting my donuts and pastries here for the last 15 years. However my last visit was not what I have come to expect from this bakery. At 945am I purchased 2 pastries and 3 donuts. My cream horn was 3/4 the way filled and over baked, crunchy and firm not light, crispy, flaky and chewy inside as expected. My maple covered long John was not fully covered in maple, overly risen and dry. My pecan pastry was hard and dry. Normally all three of those are among my favorites at this bakery. My father also complained a few times that he had gotten dry donuts in the last month but I was hoping I would not find the same. Please bring back the quality that has kept us all coming back for more.

I’ve ordered two custom cakes and have been amazed by the quality both times. The staff are extremely friendly and the atmosphere is great. Definitely worth the stop if you’re looking for some high quality baked goods.

Alexis & Kyra, amazing cake bakers and decorators, absolutely nailed my daughter’s 21st birthday cake. I was coming from the Chicago area so only communicated with them via email and on the phone, so it was a leap of faith. I sent some inspiration pics and we spoke on the phone about some of our ideas and they brought my vision to life. It was beautiful! Everyone loved it, and bonus, it was delicious! I didn’t expect a bunch of college kids to bother eating cake but they devoured it and raved about it. So thankful to the talented bakers/decorators. We made the mistake of stopping for breakfast elsewhere before picking it up and regretted it when we saw and smelled all of the amazing food in the place! Next time!

To notch service. Nice variety of breakfast sandwiches. Expensive for products and cupcakes were main reason why I went in but the donut holes were my favorite. The cupcakes were similar to homemade from a box feel and texture with cute frosting toppings for the cost was a little. Cinnamon rolls were delicious a d lighter in nature for baked dough consistency. 7.50 for cinnamon rolls to right.

The champagne donuts & champagne cake will always be my favorite! I love picking up donuts and pastries from Highland Bakery. There have been some minor changes since the original owner retired, but I’ve still been happy with the food and the service. It has kept the tradition alive and brings people to Highland Park.

Donuts were delicious. We got a half dozen donuts and 2 jalapeño glizzys. Everything tasted delicious. The jalapeño glizzys never even made it home. The inside was decorated for valentines day and looked very nice. My daughter already asked if we can go back to eat there and we will definitely be back.

All I wanted for my birthday was a Mr. Breakfast cake from Pee Wee’s Big Adventure. I was blown away by how perfect it ended up being! ChaCha’s went above and beyond. Not only did the cake look amazing, but the flavor (salted caramel and espresso) was in no way compromised. My favorite cake I have ever had, hands down! They made me one happy gal this year!

Atmosphere is really cool and unique. I really loved this location. As a first time visitor though no one said hello or talked to me. I would have loved a suggestion so I just asked for a few random items that were okay, probably won’t frequent here.

I run a networking group in Des Moines and last night we held our event at ChaCha’s Hiland Bakery. Not only are the owners awesome people, but they have a tasty selection of baked goods, cocktails, and more. I highly recommend stopping by ChaCha’s if you haven’t before. What an awesome place!
