Loved it. Great ambiance and customer service was great. Music was a little loud but it was fun music and fit the vibe! Margaritas and drinks were delicious. The burrito was good but I played it safe. We each had a couple cocktails, the other two people had octopus and one of them had shrimp tacos as well which they both said their food was fantastic. Our bill was around $150 for us 3 and wasn’t that bad and the cocktails were strong! Go check it out!

IF YOU LIKE SEAFOOD OR ANY MEXICAN FOOD, I HIGHLY ENCOURAGE YOU TO GIVE THIS PLACE A SHOT!!!

Drove from Michigan and this place is ABSOLUTELY OUTSTANDING. We love seafood and this is by FAR the best seafood we’ve had. This tasted just like what you find in Mexico. We tried 8 items altogether and WOW. Every single item was delicious. I’m genuinely not exaggerating. The pricing reflects the authenticity, portion size, & freshness of everything, worth every penny. Aguas fresca all homemade. Tortillas were handmade, the list is endless. On top of the amazing food, the service was just as great. Truly the best service i’ve had in a long long time. Establishment was super clean, and super friendly, and personable. Bathroom was super tidy. I’m praying they don’t change a SINGLE thing, absolutely incredible. We will 100% be making a 2 hour drive for this, NO DOUBT.

We were looking for a Monday night dinner in Highwood and saw that Chacahua was open. We were the only non-native-Spanish speakers in the restaurant and they asked if it was our primera vez (first time). They recommended the pescadilla starter – basically hard shell tacos with mixed fish and shrimp. Very tasty. Lots of mariscos on our table as we also had grilled shrimp à la plancha and coctel de camarones. Both were tasty and filling. Lots of things to try on the menu next time – new to us ingredients and preparations. The tlayuda was recommended as something we should try next.

Beer for $5 a good deal and typical cocktails are also available.

This is truly the best place. We come here weekly, they catered a birthday party of ours. The food is flavorful and fresh – incredible fish taco, Al pastor, salsas, carne asada are our go-tos but they also have one of the best moles we have ever tried anywhere. While amazing food is important, the service is also exquisite. They are so hospitable and always remember that our son loves tomatoes. Ailin goes out of her way to make coming here a great experience.

If you haven’t tried the Molcajete at Chacahua, we need to talk. It’s a game changer. You get a hot stone bowl that comes out sizzling like it’s mad at you. It’s got the right balance of smoky, savory, and spicy, and if you’ve got a friend with you, good luck sharing it. It’s so good you might fight over the last bite.

But here’s the thing: the food’s only half the battle. The service? Oh, it’s on point. You’re not gonna be left sitting there wondering where your waiter went. The staff’s friendly, they’re on it, and they make sure you’ve got everything you need without hovering. It’s smooth. You feel like they got your back, and when the Molcajete hits the table, you know they did their job.

So, if you’re looking for a place to eat where the food’s phenomenal and the service has your back? Chacahua’s the place. Trust me, you’ll thank me later.

First off the food was fantastic. Food tasted authentic and fresh. It wasn’t super greasy and oily. Actually felt good eating it. Totally hit the spot. Service was spot on very quick. The atmosphere was great as well. Music taste was on the money. I wish we had a spot like this back home. I’m genuinely thinking about coming back tomorrow.
