Overly priced food. Food was below average. My food was very salty and completely different than what i thought it should be. I came in with a big group of 15 people. And we all thought the food was terrible for the price. Nothing compared to actual indian food even if they say its a fusion restaurant.
My wife and i ordered Aloo tikki, some tandoor chicken and prawn peppers fry.
The Aloo tikki was 4/10 $20
The chicken tandoor was 3/10 $28?
The prawn pepper fry was 1/10. $36
Wouldn’t go back!! And wouldn’t recommend this place.
My bill for these 3 items and 2 drinks was $110.. for indian food thats not even tasty??
Below is the pic of the prawns.. extremely bland and the base was salty.

Our whole group went to Macdonalds after this place.

This was our first time dining, and won’t be our last! Everything we ordered was delicious-the Tiki Aloo was a real winner, and the Honey Chilli Gobi was also a stand-out. Plates might look small, but really hearty and flavoursome – perfect for a tapas style menu. Food came out quickly and staff were super friendly and helpful. We loved it.

This was a 10/10 experience for us. The food was spectacular, so much thought and love in each dish and so packed full of flavour. Such a beautiful balance of salty, crunchy, tangy, sweet and savoury.
It was an explosion of flavours and felt so authentic. I’ll remember this meal for a long time to come and will be telling everyone to go and try it out. The owner Vaibhav is clearly so passionate about the food he creates and it shows! I could keep going on but you just need to go and try it for yourself!

We really enjoyed the food here. They made the traditional dishes very interesting. Couldn’t order everything in just 1 meal so will definitely come back again.
They were shot on staff when we were there so had to wait quite a bit but the great food made it up to us

Food was very good, very unique flavors. The Badam milk with a shot of rum was a standout for me. Sharing plates style of eating. The lamb, burrata and the paneer were good too

The food itself was spectacular because every dish is packed with so much thought and flavor. It is a beautiful balance of tangy, crunchy, and savory that feels and tastes truly authentic.

Service was also excellent (admittedly this must have been helped by how quiet it was).

The atmosphere (only 3/5 due to some bad luck/timing):

We went here for a late lunch between 1pm and 2pm so it was pretty empty and quiet. They have a large sliding door and unfortunately someone must have been smoking nearby so the smell did drift in for a bit right after we arrived. As someone who has never been to this spot before, it was not a good first impression, but it was likely just someone walking past because it went away after five minutes or so.

Overall, when I am next in Wellington I will be sure to visit this place again!

Didn’t get to try their winning burger last year and this was my first time eating their offering. The price was on the high side and note if you order the butter chicken, do not expect it to be the normal butter chicken with rice portion, they said the butter chicken was one of their best dishes but our butter chicken was very dry and hard, can’t say I recommend them, however, the lamb was good (even though I am personally not a lamb person) soft and flavourful, the fried potato was very unique with amazing sauce, it’s one of the best along the fried fish. The momos are very generic Chinese dumpling Style and it’s a bit like the ones you can buy from the frozen section. All in all not extremely impressed, especially considering its reputation, but passable.

OMG what a delicious dinner! So flavourful and fresh: charred cabbage, crispy potatoes and tomato, a fish main , lamb with onions. Rice and roti to match. Just YUM! Lovely welcoming service, nice explanation on what to choose in a funky venue. Perfect for any night of the week. I wish I lived here for more visits! Thankyou for a fabulous meal.

We loved our visit to Chaat Street! The food was special and absolutely reminded me of the best things I ate in Delhi. It’s elevated Indian food, the kind that I have dreamt of since travelling there but, until now, haven’t found in NZ. The service was friendly and speedy. We ran out of time to try the desserts but they sounded so appealing, as did the cocktails. Everything was just the right kind of different. Highly recommend.

The food is truely amazing! Fantastic flavours, all presented really well. Service was great, with the waiter going out of their way to help us, make recommendations, and make sure we were happy and comfortable. Highly recommend
