Yesterday, I did go for lunch with my husband and we ordered garlic paneer chilli with stuffed kulcha, bhel thali with chaas and parantha. Thali items were all cold except for the parantha in it. The taste of thali was all bland with no salt and spices. Garlic chilli paneer pieces were so big for a bite (ice cube shaped) and also it was cold inside. Kulcha, parantha and chaas were the only items I liked.
Chaat Bhavan used to have good quality and tasty food couple of years ago but now the quality, taste is really gone down.

I gave a better rating before to this restaurant, however, dropping it since they need to improve their services.
There are vegan items added to the menu which is the reason we went to the restaurant. The waiter informed us that the vegan rice items are cooked with butter. So we ordered paratha which was excessively salty. We talked with the manager and he apologized. They corrected that the vegan items are indeed vegan. They were willing to make those for us and offered a new vegan dessert too. Appreciate that.
Would advise any one vegan to ask about each item. For example, they bring dairy based raita for a vegan paratha order. They do need to train their waiters better. I am hoping they will improve their service.
The restaurant is too crowded with tables packed too close.

Service was very slow despite the restaurant not being too crowded, and the waiters were just talking to each other instead of even giving us the menu first thing.
I got the house thali, as well as methi chaman paneer with pesto naan (a monthly special). The pesto naan was pretty good but the paneer which gave me high expectations let me down due to the small paneer pieces. Thali was decent as well. I do think the food could’ve been heated more as it was just warm and not hot enough.

We had lunch here today. We were in a time crunch and informed that to our server upfront. He made recommendations for what would arrive quick. Service was great. Good came quickly and was fresh and yummy. Even though everything was served quickly, didn’t feel they compromised on the quality. I accidentally forgot my handbag under the chair and only realized it after a while when I had left. Called the restaurant and they had stowed it away safely. I was only able to come back after 3 hours to collect the bag- all my stuff in the bag- cash/ wallet/ cards were intact. Really appreciated that .

Our family recently celebrated my mom’s birthday at Chaat Bhavan on Mowry Avenue in Fremont and the experience was absolutely wonderful. From the moment we arrived the atmosphere was lively welcoming and perfect for a family celebration. The food was excellent across the board fresh flavorful and authentic with every dish bringing comfort and joy.
What truly made the evening special was the exceptional customer service especially from Jitender. He was extremely warm courteous and genuinely friendly from start to finish. He made sure everything was perfect for our celebration helped us with recommendations and checked in thoughtfully throughout the evening. His kindness and attention made my mom feel truly celebrated which meant a lot to our entire family.
Jitender went above and beyond to make sure we were taken care of and his professionalism and positive attitude elevated the entire experience. It is rare to come across service that feels this sincere.
We left feeling grateful and happy and we sincerely thank Jitender and the entire Chaat Bhavan team for making my mom’s birthday so memorable. We will definitely be coming back and recommending this location to others.

The service was very poor. We went to the restaurant at 9pm, and expecting them to close the kitchen soon, we placed the order for appetizers and entrees. At 9:30, the waiter asked us to pay the check as they close soon. I made a mistake of not saying “no, I will pay only after the dish arrives”. 10 minutes later, at 9:45, the main dish arrived and within 5 minutes one of the waiters asked us if we want to box it. If they can’t wait for the customer to have their dish peacefully, what’s the point of running a restaurant. Never recommending this hotel to anyone. You will be better off at Honest restaurant which is nearby or any other restaurants around.
One more issue was that the Bhindi masala was not in gravy style. It was a Bhindi fry. When questioned, the waiter said that in our restaurant, this is what Bhindi Masala is. I am adding a picture so that in future, other customers won’t be fooled like us. (Wanted to ask if we order paneer butter masala, would they give us paneer chilli or paneer fry)
They even contradicted their own statement that I can order the drink later and when I asked for the drinks menu, they responded saying kitchen is closed.
Overall a horrible experience for us.

placed order through ubereats, quality is very different than when you eat in restaurant. In restaurant, koftas are crunchy and also garlic naan, but when we do online order, naan are mostly burned and chewing is so hard, its like you are eating rubber not naan. I did provide them this review when i dined in last time and was told plz call us after u place order, we will make sure, you get it. I did that and guess what no change, as if the person who picked didn’t even care to take action. this is my to go place for north indian food for years and management was never this bad. Hope things improve

Chaat Bhavan Fremont is a fantastic spot for authentic vegetarian Indian food. The chaats are full of real street-style flavor, the curries are well-spiced without being heavy, and everything tastes fresh and satisfying.
What truly stood out, though, was the service from Jatinder. He was warm, attentive, and genuinely helpful with recommendations. He made sure we were comfortable and checked in at the right times without being intrusive. Service like his really elevates the whole dining experience.
Great food made even better by excellent hospitality. Definitely coming back!

Loved the food at Chaat Bhavan! The pani puri was amazing, pav bhaji was super tasty, and the dal makhni was perfectly cooked and flavorful. Great quality and satisfying meal. Will definitely come back again. Customer service is very good all the staff is very friendly and helpful.
