Hands down my favourite pad Thai in town for a while, but recently, things have gone downhill. The first problem is the inclusion of peanuts in my order when I’ve requested none, even after including an allergy note. I’ve alerted the staff and have only been offered an apology. This has occurred on four of my last five orders. Makes me concerned they’re also ignoring the gluten-free note.
Recently, they’ve been skimping on protein. For a while, I loved that you could double your protein for $2.50, but it’s gotten worse, with today’s order only including two extra prawns.
Between the concerns for safety and diminishing value, I’ve decided to no longer order here.

Most excellent Thai food – very evident how they have been voted Best Of Halifax by The Coast.

My hidden gem, although not really hidden as they always have so many take out orders. I prefer to eat there because I love the ambiance, it’s quiet, comfortable, and inviting. I love the decor and the layout (you can see the chefs cooking). You can feel like you’re on a vacation abroad while in Dartmouth. Truly some of the best food in the city. I’ve been eating here for years and the quality and food as always been consistently 10/10!!! The pad-see-ew is my favourite meal, and I always crave it! There are so many delicious meals on the menu, and it always arrives at the table promptly, hot and with lovely service! Thank you so much for always providing delicious food, a peaceful ambiance and warm service. I always love my experiences at Chaa Baa Thai!

Excellent meal with friends. The food was amazing and generous proportions. I was super hungry so no take-home food for me, but both my companions had lunch for the next day. It was busy, but we had good service. I love restaurants with decor and atmosphere to make it more of an experience, that’s the only area I don’t give a 5-star rating.

Good Thai Food with pleasant ambience. The drinks were bit below average but no complaints from the food. Pad thai was the standout followed by the Red curry and Cashew Chicken. The quantity is quite good and can be shared by two people(with rice or sides)

The restaurant was nice, the staff was friendly, the cashew chicken was delicious, but unfortunately the spring rolls were not fresh, they were sour. Fried noodles taste sweet and sour, but it will be a little greasy, not recommended to try. Thai coffee tastes a little more weepy and creamy.

Food was decent. All the dishes with shrimp had the hard shrimp tail attached which makes sense for grilled or fried shrimp but it was the case even for curries where I had to hand pluck each shrimp. This was tedious and messy for eating hot curry. Rice isnt included with curries but is “strongly recommended”. The rice should be included with the curries if its so strongly recommended. I got my soup after I was halfway throuh my main dish. The server could not make a recommendation for any of the shrimp dishes. The wait to order was about 20 minutes and we got served the first dish 20 minutes after we ordered eventhough there were only two other tables being served. Wouldn’t come again.
