You order at the counter and they call your name when your order is ready. The doors on the right are right in front of counter where you order. (We didn’t know this and walked in on other side) i had the deli ham sandwich and gumbo (roux was good plenty of shrimp lil bit of spice). hubby had shrimp po boy (super soft bread perfectly cooked shrimp) and onion rings.( thin sliced yumminess) I also had a bloody mary. Everything was delicious. Prices were good. Would definitely come back.

Always great food. Got the boudin basket and grilled shrimp dinner. Wife got 1lb of snow crab and friends got crawfish. No complaints and we joined our friends who go every Friday night. Can get busy and close quarters to share tables with others. The cajun way of enjoying family and meeting new people.

We’re on a road trip from Texas and had to have some Cajun food. We ordered the ettouffee and the gumbo and the boudin balls. Everything was exactly as it should be. The garlic pepper sauce was addictive…Worth the detour from I10. They have a bar too.

I have to be VERY VERY Honest here. That was probably the best catfish po-boy I have ever tasted. And ain’t nothing po about it! Now it’s not fried hard like I would prefer, but the taste and quality of this catfish is PHENOMENAL! It is small! But the quality definitely beat the size of the fish here. It’s not salty, the mix of the mayo and mustard took it to the next level. Along with the fresh veggies. My oh my!! I might have to order another one right now! Real talk

Tonight (12/26/25), I ordered the Half and Half with “grilled” shrimp and fried catfish. It was a 30 minute wait.
When I got home, the catfish was small, and the breading was dark, indicating wither used up grease, or too high of a temp. The shrimp was obviously cooked in a pan since shrimp of that tiny size would fall through a grill. Grilled shrimp is normally large (16/20), or jumbo (13/15). I know these things because not only did I grow up eating seafood here in South Louisiana, but I’m a culinary school trained chef.
Besides the small sizes and improper cooking, the fries, the shrimp, and the fish were all salted to the point of inedibility. I didn’t even feed it to my dogs because I didn’t want to give them coronaries.
Next time I’m in this area and hungry for fried catfish, I’ll stick to the truck stop diner at the I-10/Jennings exit. It’s FAAARRR superior, and I get much more for my money.

After hearing about this place from locals on Facebook, we decided to come on a Friday night for their boiled crabs. Market price on the crabs was $31/half dozen and $60/dozen. The crabs were good size, full of meat, and delicious.

An absolutely delightful place in the great town of Mermentau. Honestly this place has the biggest and best boiled seafood in Acadia parish. The shrimp and crabs are HUUUUGEE and for the price you just cannot beat it. Great drinks as well and friendly staff. Get there early and it will be extremely worth the drive.
